After One Night with the Alpha (Brad and Elle) novel Chapter 130

Chapter 130

Elle’s POV

20

The Blair family estate took my breath away. As our car pulled through the wrought iron gates, I found myself staring at sprawling gardens that seemed to stretch endlessly, dotted with structures that looked like they belonged in a medieval fairy tale. Ancient stone pathways wound through meticulously maintained grounds, and the main house itself was a magnificent blend of old-world architecture

and timeless elegance.

“Holy shit,” Sophia whispered beside me, and I couldn’t blame her for the reaction.

Raymond glanced back at us from the front seat with a small smile. “The Blair family has been here for over three centuries. They’ve had

time to perfect things.”

As we stepped out of the car, I immediately noticed two figures waiting at the grand entrance. The man, Mr. Martin Blair, was tall and distinguished, with salt-and-pepper hair and kind eyes that seemed to light up the moment he saw me. The woman beside him-Stella Blair-was elegant and graceful, but there was something fragile about her, like she might break if touched too roughly.

“Elle,” Martin Blair said, and his voice carried such warmth and emotion that I felt slightly overwhelmed. He approached us quickly, his eyes never leaving my face. “My dear girl, you came.”

I felt heat rise to my cheeks under his intense scrutiny. “Mr. Blair, thank you so much for inviting us. I couldn’t leave without properly thanking Mrs. Blair for her incredible kindness.”

Stella stepped forward, and I was struck by how carefully she moved, as if she were handling something precious and breakable. “Elle, welcome to our home.” Her voice was soft, almost reverent.

Sophia cleared her throat gently beside me. “I hope you don’t mind that I’ve joined Elle. I’m Sophia Luke, from the Frostclaw Pack.”

If the Blair family was surprised to have a werewolf guest, they didn’t show it. Stella’s smile remained warm. “Any friend of Elle’s is welcome here. The Blair family has always maintained good relationships with… progressive werewolves.”

Raymond stepped forward with that perfect courtesy of his. “Mr. and Mrs. Blair, I’ve successfully delivered Elle safely, as promised.”

Martin’s attention shifted to Raymond briefly, and something passed between them-some understanding I wasn’t privy to. “Thank you, Raymond. We’re grateful.’

“Come, Martin said, his voice thick with emotion, “let us show you our gardens.”

The gardens were unlike anything I’d ever seen. As Stella led us along winding stone paths, she explained their family’s alchemical heritage with obvious pride. Everywhere I looked, there were strange and beautiful plants-herbs I’d never seen before, flowers that seemed to shimmer in the sunlight, vegetables that looked too perfect to be real.

“This is incredible,” I breathed, genuinely amazed. “But… I notice there aren’t any regular flowers. No roses or daisies or…”

“We have several dozen acres of specialized medicinal gardens, Stella explained, her voice taking on a careful tone. “The main estate grounds… we stopped growing common flowers because… She paused, glancing at Martin.

“Because of Dakota, Martin finished gently. Our daughter had severe allergies to common flower pollens. It became a habit to protect her

health.”

I felt heat flush my cheeks. ‘Oh god, I’m so sorry. I didn’t mean to bring up painful memories.”

‘Not at all,’ Martin said quickly. ‘In fact, perhaps it’s time we considered adding some regular flowers back. For visitors like yourself.”

Raymond spoke up smoothly. I’d be happy to arrange for suitable flower varieties to be delivered.”

Later, we found ourselves in an elegant pavilion carved with intricate symbols I didn’t recognize. Stella had prepared the most elaborate spread of pastries I’d ever seen-delicate, beautiful creations that looked almost too perfect to eat.

“These are incredible,” I said, biting into something that tasted like heaven itself. The flavors were complex and layered, with subtle

herbal notes that seemed to warm me from the inside.

Stella’s face lit up with genuine joy.

I set down my pastry and reached into my bag. “Mrs. Blair, Mr. Blair, these really are the most amazing pastries I’ve ever tasted. I’ve enjoyed so much of your hospitality without properly thanking you, and that’s incredibly rude of us.”

I pulled out a small, elegant box I’d asked Raymond to help me prepare. Inside was a hand-braided bracelet I’d made, with jade stones that were apparently a Moonshade Bay specialty.

“Please don’t refuse this,” I said earnestly.

Martin and Stella exchanged a look, and accepted it.

After our rest in the pavilion, Martin led us to what he proudly called their ‘modest library. Modest my ass. The building was fucking enormous-a four-story structure that had to cover tens of thousands of square feet.

Inside, I was overwhelmed by the sheer volume of books. Ancient texts lined every wall, and there were climate-controlled rooms for the oldest manuscripts. Everything was perfectly organized and maintained by what appeared to be a small army of caretakers.

“This is just one of our libraries,” Martin said casually. “The really extensive collection is underground-that’s where we keep the lost knowledge and forbidden texts. This library is semi-public, for core family members.”

I stared around in amazement. No wonder the Blair family commanded such respect in a werewolf-dominated society. Their knowledge and resources were incredible.

Just as I was beginning to truly appreciate the magnitude of what I was seeing, a servant came running up to us, clearly agitated.

“Mr. Blair! Mr. Blair!” he gasped. “The Rayne… Rayne Group’s Alpha Brod is here!”

I felt the blood drain from my face. Everyone around me went completely still-Sophia, Raymond, Martin, Stella, all of them just frozen.

Why the hell was Brad here?

Martin recovered first, straightening his shoulders. “Alpha Brad has honored us with his presence. We certainly can’t keep such a distinguished werewolf guest waiting at our gates. Let’s go.”

My heart was pounding as we made our way back to the front of the estate. I had no idea what to expect, but when we reached the gates,

the sight before us was overwhelming.

Brad stood in the center of what looked like a small parade. There were sleek black vehicles everywhere, and he was surrounded by

werewolves in expensive suits.

His presence was commanding and unmistakable. Even from a distance, I could feel the weight of his Alpha aura pressing against

everyone present.

Martin stepped forward. “Alpha Brad, what an unexpected honor. Please forgive us for not being prepared for your arrival.”

But Brad’s gaze cut right past Martin as if he didn’t exist. His eyes found mine across the distance, and the intensity in them made my breath catch. There was something possessive and hungry in his expression, like he wanted to grab me and hide me away from everyone

else.

I glared back at him, anger flaring hot in my chest. What the hell did he think he was doing, showing up like this?

Only after he’d stared at me long enough to make his point did Brad finally acknowledge Martin. “Sorry for the intrusion. Elle has been away for quite some time. I’m here to bring my mate home.”
