Chapter 267
Brad’s POV
I pulled off my headphones, amber eyes flashing with cold satisfaction as I turned to Lester, who was still sulking like a kicked puppy beside me.
“Come on,” I said, my voice carrying that edge of anticipation that meant someone was about to get fucked over. Looks like we’ve got some entertainment
today.”
Lester just stared at me with those pathetic eyes, still wallowing in his heartbreak “What entertainment?” he mumbled, and I could practically hear his internal whining: I’m still dealing with losing the woman I love, and you assholes can’t even be bothered to comfort me?
I didn’t give a shit about his feelings right now. There were bigger games at play
Without waiting for him to process what was happening, I grabbed him by the arm and dragged him into our state-of-the-art surveillance room. The place was equipped with the most advanced monitoring technology money could buy perfect for what we were about to witness.
“What the hell, Brad- Lester started, but I was already reaching for the remote.
Shut up and watch,” I said, my fingers dancing over the controls as I accessed the surveillance network.
The massive wall screen flickered to life, displaying a hidden camera feed. On screen: Roy’s car, with Roy himself lounging in the passenger seat like he didn’t have a care in the world, and Mira behind the wheel.
Lester’s jaw dropped. “Mira?”
His Alpha instincts finally kicked in, cutting through the heartbreak haze. “Brad, hat the fuck is this? You’re spying on them?”
I settled back in my chair, getting comfortable for the show. “I’ve been suspicious about Mira’s little six-year disappearing act for a while now. It was never as simple as you thought.” I paused, letting that sink in. “I originally planned to use Lucas to expose whatever game she’s playing, but that fucking idiot got played so hard by her that she cleaned out his bank account and he still couldn’t get anything useful.”
“Get what?” Lester was finally paying attention, his Alpha mind starting to work.
‘I thought I’d lost my chance to find out the truth,” I continued, my smile turning predatory. “But then she set her sights on Roy. So Roy and I worked out a little… arrangement. He’s helping me confirm something.”
‘Confirm what?”
My grin widened. “Just watch. We’re about to find out.”
In Roy’s car, the temperature was rising fast.
Roy had been lounging in the passenger seat, his eyes never leaving Mira. As Molake Pack’s Alpha, he wore that casual, amused expression that said he
was enjoying himself immensely.
Mira kept glancing at him while driving. The competitive glint in her eyes told everything I needed to know she thought this was her big opportunity.
“Where should we eat?” she purred, giving him one of those sultry looks. “I know few private restaurants in Moonshade Bay that cater specifically to Alpha
wolves.”

Chapter 267
Roy’s fingers found her thigh, trailing along the fabric of her dress. “Your pick. M treat order whatever you want.”

The hunger in Mira’s eyes intensified, and it sure as hell wasn’t for food. “I heard about this hotel restaurant with private dining rooms. Want to try it?”
‘Sounds perfect. Roy’s hand moved higher, his Alpha possession instincts starting to show. “Whatever you want.”
Mira tapped his hand playfully but didn’t push him away.
The chemistry between them was obvious now. They both knew exactly what this was about.
Back in the surveillance room, Lester looked like someone had just told him Sant Claus was a serial killer.
“How is this possible?” he breathed. “She’s actually… she’s flirting with Roy?”
“Yeah, I said, my voice dripping with satisfaction. “How about that? Doesn’t make you wonder what might have changed her during those six years?”
Lester whipped around to face me. “What did you find out?”
‘She covered her tracks well – no smoking gun yet. But there are breadcrumbs everywhere.” I leaned forward, enjoying this. “Roy’s really taking one for the team today. I’m suddenly very interested to see what happens next.”
Lester was finally thinking like the Alpha he was supposed to be instead of that vesick puppy he’d been acting like. The change was obvious straightened, his eyes sharpened.
Good. Maybe now he’ll be useful.
his posture
To be fair, when Lester wasn’t being a complete fucking disaster, he was actually decent Alpha. Handsome, rich, powerful, and loyal. The problem was that his personality that made him fall for every sob story.
But a focused Lester? That was an Alpha worth having as an ally.
‘You’re right,” he said slowly, pieces clicking into place. “This isn’t the Mira we used to know. The old Mira would never have done something like this.”
‘Exactly.” My smile turned cold. “So we need to figure out why she’s so desperateo sink her claws into an Alpha wolf.”
Time to see what secrets you’ve been hiding, Mira.
Lester pulled up a chair, his heartbreak temporarily forgotten. ‘What’s Roy hoping to get out of this?”
“The truth,’ I said simply. “And maybe some entertainment. After all, Yara practic ly shoved Mira at him. If he’s going to have to deal with her scheming, might as well use it to our advantage.”
Mira pulled up to one of Moonshade Bay’s most exclusive establishments. The kid of place that served mediocre French food but offered… other amenities.
Roy knows exactly what kind of place this is, I thought, watching him play dumb as she led him inside.
For once, Roy wasn’t wearing his usual sunglasses, letting his face be seen clearly Smart move – we needed witnesses for what was coming.
Mira checked her reflection in the car mirror one last time.

She linked her arm through his possessively as they walked into the hotel.
Confident little bitch, isn’t she?
The room Mira led Roy to was decorated like something out of a romance novel flowers everywhere, soft lighting, and a dining table that looked
suspiciously close to the bed.
Roy whistled appreciatively. “Damn, Mira. You’ve got serious romantic skills.”
She practically glowed with pride. “As long as you don’t hate it.”
Of course he doesn’t hate it, I thought. But there’s something seriously fucked up about a female wolf setting up the seduction scene. That’s supposed to be the
male’s job.
Roy pulled her into his arms. “How could I hate this? You put so much thought into it.”
I just want to properly… bribe you,” she said with fake innocence, so you’ll give me a good role.”
There it is.
Lester and I exchanged a meaningful look.
Mira’s tail was finally showing.

The readers' comments on the novel: After One Night with the Alpha (Brad and Elle)
Not sure how the story ended without completing the circle on what happened to Sophia and Lester. That loop was just left hanging... what happened with the Blair contract of having to married Raymond? All Eleanor wanted was a piece of Rayne industries?...
