After Rebirth, I Ditched The Ice-Cold Father-Son Duo (Eliana) novel Chapter 113

Chapter 113

Nathan had suspected this before, but it was a thought he’ll never dared to face headon.

He couldn’t bear the thought that all of Eliana’s compromises a sacrifices had been for him.

Every time that thought crossed his mind, it hurt like hell.

But now that Irene had ripped the band

off, as he looked down at Eliana in his arms, all the emotions he’d been holding back came crashing over him like a tidal wave.

Nathan thought, Irene gets a point. Thank God that Eliana finally realized she had to get out of that messedup marriage. If she hadn’t. I’d have been completely lost, no clue how to fix anythis!

At least now, he could wait for Eliana’s divorce and

be, just maybe, get a chance to make things right.

With that thought, Nathan forced himself to tamp down the storm of emotions threatening to break loose. His gaze stayed

on Eliana, but his mind had already shifted to eng about Logan.

Logan really dared to mess with Eliana this time. Well, he is about to find out what it’s like to be played, Nathan thought.

After Irene dropped him off, Nathan wasted no time and made a call. Nathan said, Logan has been looking for an opening like this, right? Send him a hint and let him know.

That Westridge project has him backed into a corner. He is scrambling to pull his funds together. He’ll definitely bite.” The person on the other end didn’t dare hesitate and agreed immediately.

After hanging up, Nathan slouched against the doorway of the villa, head bowed as he lit up a cigarette. He didn’t head inside just yet.

Thinking back to all the confusion and struggle before he returned, Nathan felt a wave of relief. Good thing I came back, he thought.

He’d always wondered if, after six years of marriage, Eliana’s feelings for Logan had already grown stronger than what she felt for him. Maybe she’d already moved on and forgotten about him.

But just now, in the bar, when Eliana got drunk and broke down crying, that was the first time Nathan truly felt his heart ache for her.

After all these years, he finally realized that maybe he’d never really left Eliana’s heart.

It was just that those feelings had been buried deep, hidden away by reason and reality.

After marrying Logan, Eliana did everything a wife was supposed to do. She tried to forget about Nathan and just live her life.

But even for all her reason, maybe she never really let go of him.

Even just the possibility was enough to keep Nathan going, though he couldn’t have explained it if he tried.

Nathan took a deep drag, then stubbed out his cigarette and flicked it into the bin by the door. Only then did he push open the door to the villa and walk inside.

Now that he was back, no matter what happened, he wasn’t about to let go, not this time.

He was going to bring her back to his side, whatever it took.

Chapter 113

Lost in thought, Nathan glanced around the villa, a rare softness lickering in his eyes.

Everything here was set up according to what Eliana used to say he liked. It was warm and inviting, just the way she’d imagined. Anyone could tell she’d genuinely looked forward to their future together back then.

Nathan thought. But ten years had gone by. Who knew if she is ill into all this now?

Thinking about it just made Nathan feel even more suffocated inside.

Those ten years he’d lost were a regret he could never shake, a wound he could never heal.

He knew better than anyone that his hands had been tied back then, but that only made it harder to forgive himself.

It was ten long years. If he’d had the chance, he would’ve come back ages ago.

When she got married, he even thought about crashing the wedding and stealing her away. But the harshness of reality got to him, and all he could do was get drunk out of his mind on her wedding day.

After she was married, he knew she was miserable in that marriage, but he still didn’t come back right away, always finding reasons, always putting it off.

He knew her unhappiness had everything to do with him.

Lost in his thoughts, Nathan walked over to the

the liquor cabinet, uncorked a fresh bottle, and poured himself a drink.

As he drank, he reached for Eliana’s favorite plush toy from back in the day and propped it up in the seat opposite him.

He looked at it earnestly and said, Eliana, I owe you so much, and I swear I’ll spend the rest of my life making it right.

If you’re willing to trust me again, if you’re willing to give us another shot, I’ll never let you go.”

With that, Nathan picked up his glass and downed it in one go.

Meanwhile, at the entrance of Lyons Manor, Sarah heard Irene’s voice and immediately rushed out to greet them.

When she saw Irene helping a dead drunk Eliana out of the car, Sarah’s eyes went wide with surprise. She hurried over and grabbed Eliana, making sure she didn’t fall.

Knowing her daughter, Sarah was well aware that Eliana wasn’t the type to drink herself silly. Unable to hold back her concern, she turned to Irene and asked, Irene, did something happen to her?

There was no hiding worry in Sarah’s eyes.

She was afraid Eliana might be going through something, but that she’d just put on a brave face at home and never let anyone see her troubles.

Irene said, No worries, Sarah. We were just hanging out, having some fun, and Eliana got a little carried away with the drinks.

Honestly, I was supposed to drink, too, but I had a client to meet, so I ended up being the chauffeur for the night. Seriously, as long as Eliana gets out of that mess of a marriage, her life is gonna be smooth sailing.

Seeing how relaxed Irene was, Sarah finally breathed a sigh of relief, and a genuine smile appeared on her face. Irene was always a ray of sunshine, and Sarah and Wesley couldn’t help but be fond of her.
