Chapter 32
Logan quickly reached out and grabbed her arm. “I’m not hungry. Why are you here? Where’s my mom?”
Isabella said, “Hannah and Samuel are having a fight. You know she’s not great with kids. I couldn’t just stand by and watch, so I rushed over.
“But honestly, Logan, this can’t go on. Samuel’s been at home all day lately. Even though Sophie and the others are there, they’re still just staff. He really needs someone to properly look after him.
“Ms. Lyons is really heartless, isn’t she? She hasn’t come back for days. Logan, do you think… she might not be coming back at all this time?”
“No,” Logan replied, almost instinctively.
The moment he said it, Isabella’s expression shifted, barely able to maintain her composure.
But she quickly pushed down her feelings and said, “Logan, it’s pretty late now. Can I stay here for the night?”
It was late. Logan couldn’t bring himself to ask her to leave at this hour, so he agreed.
Feeling slightly better, Isabella looked at him and said, “Actually, my schedule is pretty light right now. Before Ms. Lyons comes back, I can stay here and take care of Samuel.
“That way, you won’t have to worry so much.”
As Isabella spoke, Logan’s gaze drifted to the trash can in the corner of the room.
The newly replaced bag was already half–full with candy wrappers.
He knew this was Isabella’s way of bonding with Samuel. An occasional treat was fine, and he usually didn’t say anything.
But if it kept happening, it did bother him a little.
He didn’t want to blame Isabella. She didn’t have kids of her own, so it was normal she might not understand.
Still, he found himself refusing her offer. “That’s not appropriate. Sophie can handle it. You just got back from abroad. This is a crucial time for your career. I can’t keep imposing on you.”
Hearing this, Isabella almost blurted out that it was fine.
Truth was, even with the resources Logan gave her, she had no real interest in building a career. She just wanted to be Mrs. Eliot, living comfortably off Logan.
But she knew she couldn’t be too obvious about it now, so she just nodded. “Alright then. Get some rest. And remember, if Samuel needs anything, just let me know.”
Logan nodded and called for Sophie to take Isabella to a guest room.

As they walked, Isabella suddenly spoke up, “Sophie, I didn’t bring a change of clothes. Take me to get something to wear.”
Sophie hesitated for a moment before replying slowly, “I have a new set of clothes at my place. Ms. Hewitt, if you don’t mind…”
Isabella cut her off impatiently. “What are you talking about? How could I possibly wear your clothes?
“Take me to get something of Eliana’s. I’ll make do with her clothes for tonight.”
Sophie’s eyes widened slightly. “But… that doesn’t seem right. Even if Mrs. Eliot didn’t take the clothes away, they still belong to her…”
“Nonsense.” Isabella’s look turned impatient. “Anything in the Eliot Mansion belongs to the Eliots. Logan agreed to let me stay. You’re just a hired hand. How dare you question it? Do you not want this job anymore?
“Or do I need to have Logan come and tell you himself?”
Sophie bit back her anger, not daring to argue further, and reluctantly led Isabella into Eliana’s walk–in closet, handing her an outfit.
Seeing Sophie comply, Isabella snatched the clothes and headed to the guest room.
After her shower, Isabella put on Eliana’s pajamas, got into bed, took a picture, and posted it online.
[Helped Samuel with his studies and waited for Logan to get off work. Before I knew it, it was this late. Just showered and off to bed.] That was her caption.
Irene, a devoted internet user, saw the post the moment it went live.
Her eyes widened as she read it over several times. She quickly took a screenshot and sent it to Eliana.
[Eliana, Logan is disgusting. He’s already brazenly bringing that woman home?]
[Save all this evidence. I’ve never seen a mistress so openly flaunt proof like this. Let her keep posting. We’ll gather more. Once Logan is proven at fault in the divorce, I think just getting your parents‘ land back from him would be letting him off easy.]
[Walking away with nothing would be what he deserves.]
Looking at Irene’s messages, Eliana clicked on Isabella’s photo.
Honestly, seeing that picture did make her sick.
Spending time with her child, waiting for her husband, and wearing her clothes, Isabella was truly disgusting.
In the past, Eliana would have just swallowed the bitter pill, tangled up in hurt and frustration.
But with this second chance at life, she was done holding back.
So she quickly opened the app, found Isabella’s post, and commented directly underneath.
