Chapter 124: Chapter 124 A Courier

By lunchtime, Luo Xiaoqian and Xu Xia had not returned.

"Time to eat!"

The staff called everyone to go for the midday meal. Shen Xinyi watched as everyone went out to get their boxed lunches, but she remained seated, not moving.

Seeing that nobody was paying attention, she stealthily took out a small paper parcel from her bag and hid it in her pocket. She then walked cautiously towards the entrance of the stage. Observing a few staff members adjusting a camera beside the piano, she pursed her lips but ultimately retreated back the way she had come.

Just as she reached the makeup room entrance, she saw a courier peeking inside.

"What are you doing?" Her mood was foul, so her tone was naturally less than cordial.

The courier politely inquired, "Hello, I have a parcel for Miss Luo Xiaoqian. Is she here?"

"She’s not!" Shen Xinyi retorted irritably, intending to pass by and have her meal.

"Could you trouble yourself to sign for it then?" the courier offered the delivery form, adding, "It would really help me out."

Shen Xinyi cast an impatient glance at him, took the delivery form and pen, and upon glancing at the large box in his hands, an idea struck her. She promptly signed the name "Luo Xiaoqian."

The courier did not examine it closely, simply thanked her, handed her the box, and left.

Holding the box as she walked into the makeup room, Shen Xinyi looked at the box in her hands and could not resist her curiosity. She quickly grabbed a knife, sliced through the tape, and lifted the lid.

Her eyes widened instantly at the sight of the contents.

Inside the box was a white cocktail dress, embellished with hand-sewn crystals at the bust and layers of tulle at the hem that cascaded like mist. The dress was as dreamy as could be.

"Hmph!" Looking at the lovely dress, Shen Xinyi could only snort with jealousy. She casually tossed the box onto Luo Xiaoqian’s spot, "A sparrow remains a sparrow. Does she think she can become a princess by wearing this?"

Turning to leave, she took just a couple of steps before stopping. She turned back, grabbed a juice someone had left on the floor, and unhesitatingly spilled it onto the dress.
