"What is it?!" Leng Zirui’s voice bore a hint of curiosity.
"Seo Fei’s phone, picked up by Ah Jiu."
Leng Zirui’s voice was tinged with excitement, "Great, I’ll be there right away, about half an hour to your place."
Seo Fei’s phone could very well hold clues, and for Leng Zirui, whose leads had run dry, this was definitely exciting news.
"I’ll wait for you."
Leng Zimo hung up the phone, stood up, and walked into the guest room opposite to take a shower.
Twenty-eight minutes later, a military SUV roared in and stopped outside the farm gate.
Cheang Xiao, who was on night duty, came over with two subordinates, and seeing it was Leng Zirui, immediately opened the gate for him.
"Thanks!"
Leng Zirui slid down the car window and waved at him.
Cheang Xiao said nothing, merely nodded politely, then directed his two subordinates, the bodyguards, to let him through.
Leng Zirui continued to drive the car forward, his gaze sweeping the rearview mirror, catching Cheang Xiao’s profile. He slammed on the brakes, turned his face, and looked at Cheang Xiao not far away.
From this angle, he could just see half of Cheang Xiao’s profile.
That profile looked so familiar.
Fumbling in his pocket, Leng Zirui quickly pulled up the photo his subordinates had sent him earlier, the only picture of a crime suspect found at the hotel where Ji Li was murdered.
The photo was taken from too far away, and although technically processed, it remained very blurry, making it impossible to discern the person’s features. Yet, Leng Zirui sensitively felt the similarity between this photo and Cheang Xiao’s profile.
Putting away his phone, he pushed the car door open and got out, giving Cheang Xiao, who walked over, a glance, "I was in such a rush today, I haven’t asked your name yet?"
"Cheang Xiao!" he announced his name.
