The little guy just pursed his lips tightly, silent, his appearance alone made one’s heart ache.
Xiao Gao wished she could slap herself hard; why did she turn on the TV? She was so regretful she could cry.
Holding him as they walked out of the hotel, they hailed a taxi, and the two hurried to Xu Xia’s street shooting location—Napoleon Street.
...
...
Darkness surrounded her, with piano music coming from somewhere.
Luo Xiaoqian felt her way through the dark, moving forward, not knowing how long she walked until suddenly a light appeared in front of her, slanting from the sky, shining on a person.
The person was sitting in front of a white piano, with slender fingers bouncing and gliding over the keys, the enchanting melody flowing from under his fingers.
The tune was something she was very familiar with, she could even hum the next notes in her mind.
Yet, she couldn’t remember what piece it was.
Under the light, the whole person seemed to be glowing.
Too far away, she could not see his face clearly, wanting to call out to him, but couldn’t remember his name.
Luo Xiaoqian ran towards him with all her strength, but no matter how hard she tried, the distance between them never closed even a bit; he was like a deity, far away, unreachable.
When the piece ended, he stood up, turned, and walked towards the stage.
"Wait, don’t go!"
Luo Xiaoqian cried out in surprise, abruptly waking from her dream.
In front of her was dimness, no stage, only opulent European-style architecture, the carved bed posts glimmering faintly.
Luo Xiaoqian raised her hands to wipe her face, her forehead and body covered in sweat.
"Madam, hello, I am your private lawyer, David. These are your documents, including birth certificate, property information, and some stocks and bonds, among other things."
Luo Xiaoqian took one of the documents at the top, opened it, and saw it written in English—Birth Certificate.
She flipped it open with her hand, and saw it read:
Name: Sissi, De, Howard.
Nationality: United Kingdom.
Below it were the birth date, height and weight at birth, parents’ names, and so on.
"I’m British?" Luo Xiaoqian frowned slightly.
"Yes, your father was a British noble, and your mother was Chinese. Your black hair and eyes are inherited from your mother. Three years ago, they passed away." David explained.
After receiving Luo Ke’s call last night, David had done adequate homework; for him, fabricating a half-true identity wasn’t difficult, as he had personally handled Seo Fei’s matters previously.
