Speaking of the Lord... he was currently pale. Very pale.
By this time, they could hear the war was already raging, and a few breaches opened up.
How did it happen so fast?! What were the guards doing? One had to know that since he lost so many forces during the two wars, he begged Lord Mafo to lend him a few dozen E-class mercenaries!
They were weak for a town, but they were powerhouses here, and many were still level 14 and 15 and could still participate in wars!!
Where are they?!
Speaking of, at least two of them should be guarding him right now! He remembered they checked the perimeters before the war started.
Where are they?!
Inkitt was in a hurry. In this case, he was afraid that some assassins would come for him!
He ran straight to the safest place—the warehouse. Lords hiding in the warehouse were frowned upon, and it was a factor for citizens to leave when they got a chance. It was also akin to admitting one’s loss in a way. Even if they won in the end, masculine men tended to find it distasteful to do so in the first place.
But the Inko Lord was known for his shamelessness. Further, in Inko, which was predominantly slaves or occupied by oppressed Terrans, rebellious thoughts didn’t have as much weight.
They were also backed by Voumi Town, so technically, even if he decided to hide in one war out of a few, it shouldn’t have been a problem.
Because they were going against a territory they had lost a few times already, this Lord had, in fact, wanted to hide in the warehouse pretty early on.
The reason that he wasn’t there already, despite knowing Limestone Village’s prowess, was really unlucky.
Right after the war, he got news from one of his confidantes that a portion of the wall was broken. Since the war had started, he could no longer repair it through the system.
His advisors convinced him to make an appearance because the Lord hiding right at the start of the war would affect morale, as if they had already lost.
He was a bit reluctant, but he was convinced in the end. The beasts just got denser and denser in those parts, and a lot of the guards had to focus there.
Not to mention, because the wall was broken, most of them naturally thought the enemy would find it and take advantage. Like this, a good portion of the forces were here for a time.
However, when there were no signs of humans in the area, they figured it was not their attack. But it could also be a distraction, so he sent out at least half of the forces stationed there to spread out.
Fortunately, he had mercenaries to guard the other areas, so he wasn’t too worried.
Soon, the monsters cleared despite the wall getting dismantled, but when no one was trying to breach through here yet, he breathed a sigh of relief. He did assign guards in case the enemies used the place, but he excused himself, not telling them he was heading straight to the warehouse.
He thought he’d be able to get to the warehouse before trouble came. At the time, even if it was Limestone Valley, he believed they wouldn’t be able to enter so quickly!
He was so very wrong.
Who’d have thought he couldn’t even enter the warehouse right now?!
Flop!
The guy was relatively new and was said to be one of the remaining slaves. He was quite powerful, however, and had made stellar performances. He also spiked up in level, as well, shocking him that he had such a powerhouse!
Of course, he was suspicious at first, but when the man took two elementalist slaves (injured by monsters and were therefore useless) and heartlessly dragged them deep into the monster mob, the suspicion faded.
"Have you forgotten that we have prepared a bunker in case of emergencies?" the dark-skinned man asked, making Inkitt flinch.
"You’re right! Let’s go! Be sure to protect me!"
The tanned man nodded. "Of course, Milord."
The two and a few guards rushed over to the so-called Bunker, which was built in the middle of the territory.
It was originally the underground of one of the buildings he purchased from the system, and was surrounded by sentries and reinforced by many other things!
It had complete furniture and supplies, too. Inkitt wasn’t the one who handled it, and he was impressed. Inkitt eyed the comfy-looking sofa and the food prepared next to it, and then stared at the tanned man next to him.
This person was extremely smart and had handled everything for him! He was amazing for spotting such a talent!
He patted the man’s shoulder.
"Good job, Gurnam!"
