After Surviving the Apocalypse, I Built a City in Another World novel Chapter 1930

Chapter 1930: Last Batches of Preparation Work (Part 1)

In the laboratory, Althea was focused on making as many bottles of her unique Goldleaf Elixir (A), Earth Core Elixir (B), and Aqua Vein Tonic (B) potions as she could. This was all while she was trying to decipher the patterns in the bomb shrapnel.

Althea truly wanted to divide herself so she could be everywhere, but she could only delegate the time-consuming tasks that others could do. For example, for the bomb shrapnel, she asked people to put them together as much as they could and draw the patterns.

While waiting, she decided to help produce superior-level potions with the grandmasters, who were using their own potions and formulas. There were potions that only she could create, but were very useful for people at her husband’s level, so she naturally could not neglect them. The more she could make, the better.

While her productivity had increased, she only had a day, so she couldn’t make too many bottles.

Each team had its own research; some were doing their best to expedite and make things before the war started.

One of the magic tool projects she asked them to prioritize was the improved Token Guard, with the features she hoped for. All this time, Kahonn had been focused on making improvements.

It was very close, though it was unlikely to be completed today. A pity.

There was a reason why she wanted to prioritize this.

She... wanted to permanently dissociate the token from her body, just in case.

One could never know what might happen. While she’d do her best to protect it and herself, she didn’t want to risk the home of tens of thousands of people.

Alterra wasn’t just hers anymore. Just the knowledge that her untimely death would destroy the home that so many people had worked so hard to build was too much of a burden for her.

Further, the improved token guard (that they had been trying to create) could, theoretically, allow her to control the token, even if it was within the token guard, hopefully safe in the territory warehouse, regardless of where she was, and regardless of whether the war was ongoing.

Theoretically, she could also give access to the elders to do some things as well.

She would never let go of her lordship, but not carrying the weight of so many lives depending on her every move would be nice.

She couldn’t even go to a neighbour’s territory without worrying too much.

And then there was the team dealing with the most urgent threat: The bombs.

They recovered a bit of shrapnel from the site, but upon closer inspection, there were no arrays left to study. On the surface, it was just an empty shell.

She closed her eyes and worked, only heading home for a short rest and to put the babies to bed. When she was stuck on a topic, the best way to get out of the slump was to head out and see her children.

It was like the dose of dopamine could get her brain running in a different direction or something.
