After Surviving the Apocalypse, I Built a City in Another World novel Chapter 2062

Chapter 2062: Teams to Metteo Town

The best case scenario for Metteo was for the Lord to lose the Token to their faction.

It was just that...how long has it been since Metteo had been to a war? A Town so close to the desert, especially when deserts were expanding, was generally not attractive enough to risk going to war with.

Erol was actually tempted to ask Alterra to attack Metteo but that was too much of a favor. If he dared ask, he might as well ask them to throw him out the walls.

Alterra, after their investigation, was apparently famous for avoiding wars despite their satellites ironically going through it every two weeks. Alterra itself would not go to war unless they were attacked, and that was a principle he respected.

The group rested there for a while, gathered themselves, gathered their strength, pooled their resources, gave intel, gathered intel, and so on.

They were tempted to send letters to their families left in Metteo to warn them, but they couldn’t risk it. Besides, they already taught their families what to do in the event of their ’deaths’.

Many of them should’ve left for the village by now, while the rest were in hiding, living low-key as possible.

For now, Erol and the others could only trust that their families would be able to handle themselves well on their own. Hopefully, when they returned, their loved ones were alive and well.

Ansel, Mathilda, Loki, and the others considered various options, deciding to just send spies to Metteo first. They couldn’t listen to just one side of the story, could they?

Though they were inclined to believe Erol’s side, they had to be aware of some subtleties, nuances, and so on. It would also determine how hard they could go.

Do not underestimate the little things that locals might take for granted. It could be key to ending wars.

Other than the spies, they ought to send their first batch of trainers to start the grinding sessions.

They could also take this chance to create a decent supply point in that region. That way, people didn’t have to be too stingy with their consumables.

They reckoned that some goods would be available for exchange with undead cores (or the new metal) in the future, much like how Josef exchanged cores for his abundant Igneus plants.

In the end, a number of level 20s were to be sent there, including some stuck at level 19. The experience gained from killing the Undead was the same according to level, but they did not have the beasts’ superior physique.

The reason beasts were so troublesome was because of their superior physiques, making it difficult to battle a monster of the same level alone.

But the undead was different. Their physiques were closer to humans and did not have the excessive hardiness of beasts.

They were just easier to kill, especially when one found their weaknesses. How could they miss such a grinding spot?

Anyway, they all survived zombies, how could they be afraid of these creatures who were similar but not quite?

Not to mention, they were far stronger than they were back in Terran! They were no longer unadjusted cowards at level 1 or 2!
