The merchant group specialized in traders between Bleulle and the associated towns west of it, and this included Hubble, Ester, and Jacoba Town. This was led by a bald man named Bolbo.
Unlike the newly arrived group, they had been here a while with their master, and they were sent to meet Sir Laikon to give him the information they had gathered so far. Even so, they felt like they hadn’t explored everything yet.
It was unbelievable just how deep this place was. Whenever they tried to dig, they were either blocked or deeper layers were revealed. It was exhausting. In their years of experience doubling as spies for master territories, they had never struggled this much to gather information.
Of course, they also had their own agendas. Their selling information wasn’t exactly in the form of masters and servants, but rather a partnership or a commercial deal.
Rather, the more they explored, the more their will to leave was shaken.
The cost of living here was truly so affordable! Here, one just had to kill a few monsters at their level every day, and they’d be able to eat delicious food and live well!
Balbo’s group was such a group. They were, in name, selling information to a select number of Lords, but in reality, they had their own agenda. They were perfectly capable of switching sides.
Each bite of random street food was certainly pulling them closer and closer to the other side.
Two slaves, Cessie and Casso, who were holding various shopping bags that no longer fit in any space, couldn’t help but feel greedy when they looked at the food.
They looked at their master, wondering if staring at him would signal they wanted some, too.
The master caught their eyes and scoffed. "Please, have the sensibility of being slaves. You’re not the young master and young miss of a town anymore."
"You do know that your parents have yet to send money for you, right?" he added.
The siblings bit their lips. After months of hard work, they had managed to send posts to their family, telling them who owned them at the time, and they ought to send them money and rescue them.
So far, there was no response. They thought it was delayed because they went around a lot as members of a caravan, but whenever they peeked at the Post Office there was no good news. If they hadn’t known that only the addressees could take the posts, they would’ve thought someone was hiding their letters from them.
They flushed, humiliated.
They swore to put him back in his place one of these days!
They couldn’t help but remember the life they had been living the past year, most of which was under this bastard.
They lived as true slaves, especially at the start and under the masters right after the war. They did hard labor, served ugly bastards, and even served as bait when facing monster mobs.
It was only when they encountered Bolbo, this bastard, that they found a bit of hope. Even if they did not like him, he was still a familiar merchant who had plenty of business in their hometown as well. His business was particularly prominent back when Jacoba was still allied with Ester Town.

Even back then, they had always blamed her for dying and ruining such a good deal.
