Chapter 109
my into a Billionaire’s Arms
Louisa saw Teresa’s warning glance but pretended not to notice.
Acting as if she didn’t understand Julian’s question, she lifted her coffee cup instead. “This coffee is delicious. Mr. Tudor, could you share where to get these beans?”
“What you don’t know, Ms. Forbes, Teddy replied earnestly, “is that these coffee beans were acquired at an auction and specially given to Mr. Tudor. They’re not commercially available.”
Louisa let out a disappointed sigh.
Julian scoffed under his breath at her cleverness, then turned to Teresa. “Since you’re so insistent, you can handle this project.”
Having secured the assignment, Teresa’s demeanor instantly transformed from pitiful to proud.
She gave Louisa a haughty, disdainful look, thinking Louisa was smart not to oppose her, then picked up her bag and strutted out like a proud peacock in her high heels.
After she left, Teddy looked confused. “Mr. Tudor, Ms. Forbes resolved the situation. Why didn’t you give her the project?”
He shot Louisa a disapproving look, as if to say: With Julian backing you, why be afraid of Teresa?
Julian gave an irritated glance at Louisa, who was busy sipping her coffee. “Why don’t you ask her why she didn’t fight for it?”
Teddy fell silent. Was there something he was missing?
Louisa finally set down her cup and spoke slowly. “I don’t know Teresa well, but you do. Given her personality, how do you think she’ll handle this?”
“Liquidation,” Teddy answered without hesitation. “Immediate liquidation, cutting losses, recovering whatever possible to minimize the damage.”
Louisa nodded. “Exactly. But we didn’t actually make the investment, so there’s no loss on our side.
“The first round went well because Aurora Media Group was developing nicely. The real loss would be in
the second round.

that?”
Teddy finally understood. “So this situation is difficult to resolve? Isn’t there any better way?
“There is, Louisa continued. “We could keep investing, recruit professional talent, revitalize the company,
and then sell or acquire it later to recover from the setback.”
Teddy was shocked by her boldness. Could she really be confident about bringing a dying company back to
life?
He glanced at Julian, only to find his boss wasn’t surprised at all. In fact, there was approval in his eyes.
“If you’ve already figured out a solution and you’re this confident,” Teddy asked, “why didn’t you fight for
the project?”
Louisa gave him a knowing look. “Being confident is one thing, but whether it’s easy to implement is another. If Teresa wants to do it, let her have it.”
Besides, she hadn’t established herself firmly at the Tudor Group yet and didn’t have her own people. Going head–to–head now would only make things worse.
Since Teresa was eager to prove herself, better to let her have it, do her a favor, rather than make an enemy
at a critical time.
Seeing her “everything is under control‘ attitude, Teddy had only one comment: She was deviously clever.
After returning to the company, Teresa, true to expectations, began liquidation. In the end, Aurora Media Group was left with a valuation of just a few tens of thousands of dollars.
She was nearly hysterical, screaming at her assistant, “This is what you told me to fight for? I got it, and what do I have? Five thousand dollars! How am I supposed to report this? That little bitch Louisa must be laughing her head off!”
Hatty stood trembling to the side, not daring to say a word.
Teresa collapsed into her chair, fuming. Now she understood why Louisa hadn’t fought her for the project.
Ironically, she had thought Louisa was afraid to challenge her. In reality, Louisa had anticipated this

But should she just accept defeat? She wasn’t unwilling to bow her head to Julian, but he couldn’t bear being mocked by Louisa. She refused to admit her inferiority.
After a moment of dark contemplation, she instructed Hatty, “Contact Maddox Smith for me. Ask when he’s available. Tell him I’d like to treat him to dinner.”
Hatty was shocked. “Maddox Smith? Isn’t he the one who’s always had his eye on you? Approaching him would be like dealing with a tiger!”
Teresa glared at her. “Just do as I say. Stop with all the questions.”
This time, whether dealing with a tiger or a wolf, she absolutely couldn’t lose to Louisa.
Little did Teresa know, Louisa had never cared about competing with her.
Louisa had a more pressing concern: her divorce. Only two days remained until she and George were scheduled to finalize it.
She had hoped to use her recovery time to quickly settle the matter, but seeing George’s attitude, it was 100% certain he wouldn’t agree to proceed with the divorce.
Frustrated, she’d spent the entire afternoon in her wheelchair, staring blankly at the ocean view, unable to focus on anything.
As evening fell, her phone rang. The caller ID showed: Dominic. George’s father.
She didn’t answer immediately, considering Dominic’s possible motives.
As far as she knew, his health hadn’t been good recently. He’d been recuperating abroad for most of the past six months. Had he returned?
She had always maintained distance from her former father–in–law.
Although his past attitude toward her wasn’t as picky as Hazel’s and could even be considered kind, she couldn’t shake the feeling that there was something inherently fake about him.
This call was definitely not an ordinary one. Could it be about her divorce from George? If so, she could test the waters. Perhaps he could help finalize the divorce.
