After the Affair Falling into a Billionaire's Arms novel Chapter 11

**Clocks Lie To Hearts by Asa River Flint**
**Chapter 11**

Vivian clutched George’s arm, her brow furrowed in confusion. “Hey, George, where are you off to in such a hurry?”

George hesitated, casting a glance back at Louisa. Something felt off; her attire was distinctly different from her usual style. Perhaps it wasn’t really her after all.

Vivian gave his arm a gentle tug, her playful tone breaking through his thoughts. “Come on, George, stop staring like a lost puppy. Let’s hit the golf course. My brother’s been waiting for us.”

With a reluctant nod, George allowed himself to be led away by her enthusiasm.

At that moment, Louisa was busy adding a new contact on WhatsApp, her fingers moving swiftly over the screen before she slipped her phone back into her pocket. Turning to Julian, she said, “I’ll transfer the money to you once I’m home.”

“Sure thing,” he replied, his tone steady, as if he were unfazed by the undercurrents of tension surrounding them.

Their conversation dwindled after that, and Louisa excused herself to seek out Flora.

Flora was on the tennis court, playfully engaged with Wallace. Spotting Louisa from a distance, she bounded over with a teasing nudge. “You and Mr. Tudor seemed quite cozy back there. Is there something brewing between you two?”

Louisa shook her head slightly, choosing to remain silent while Wallace was present.

Wallace flashed her a charming grin. “Ms. Forbes, it’s a rare treat to see you here. Care to join for a match?”

Louisa offered a polite smile in response. “No, thank you. I’m not very skilled, and I wouldn’t want to spoil the fun. Flora and I have plans. Enjoy your game, Mr. Morgan and Mr. Tudor.”

“Alright, catch you later,” Wallace said, sensing her disinterest and opting not to press further.

Just then, Julian strolled over, and Louisa acknowledged him with a brief nod before departing with Flora.

Once they were away from the throngs of people, Flora’s curiosity bubbled over. “So, spill the beans. Any luck with the Tudor Group?”

Louisa shook her head firmly. “Nope.”

“What? Seriously?” Flora exclaimed, nearly jumping in disbelief. “Is Mr. Tudor blind? You’re stunning and have a razor-sharp business acumen. How could he not be interested?”

Louisa let out a soft chuckle, tinged with exasperation. “It’s not about that, Flora. Let’s just move on.”

She wasn’t desperate to be a part of the Tudor Group; there were plenty of opportunities out there.

Flora, however, was less composed. “This isn’t like you. When you were with George, you fought tooth and nail to win clients and projects. There wasn’t a single deal you couldn’t close. Now, just because someone said no, you’re backing down?”

The more Flora pondered, the more she felt it was unjust to Louisa, all due to that jerk George.

Fuming, she turned to find Louisa had stopped in her tracks, staring intently at something in the distance.

Curiosity piqued, Flora approached to see what had captured her friend’s attention, and there he was—George.

Few were privy to the secret of Louisa and George’s marriage, but Flora and Sadie knew the truth.

From afar, they observed George and Vivian on the grass, entwined in each other’s embrace. Vivian stood on her tiptoes, planting a kiss on his neck, while he held her waist, clearly savoring the moment.

If it weren’t for the crowd surrounding them, one might think they were about to take their intimacy to a whole new level right there.

Flora’s anger boiled over, and she muttered under her breath, “Seriously, have they no shame?”

As she scrolled through her phone, searching for job opportunities, she waited for the staff to arrive.

But before they could show up, George walked through the door.

Upon seeing the stack of boxes in the living room, he casually opened one, discovering her bags inside. He opened another, revealing jewelry. Another contained limited edition dresses.

These were all items she had once cherished deeply.

A sudden wave of panic washed over him as he turned to Louisa. “Why are you packing up all your bags and jewelry? What’s happening here?”

Louisa replied with a calmness that belied the turmoil beneath. “These things are old. I don’t want them anymore. I’m ready for something new.”

“All of them?” George frowned, disbelief evident on his face.

“Yes.” She shot him a cool glance. “Got a problem with that?”

George fell silent. Her explanation seemed reasonable on the surface, but he knew her well enough to understand that she was someone who held memories close to her heart.

When they had first married, the Capulet family was already facing decline. He had invested every penny into projects, unable to afford even a decent piece of jewelry for her. Instead, he had crafted a pearl bracelet from a simple string.

She had treasured it as if it were the most valuable item in the world, taking it off only to wash her hands, terrified of getting it dirty.

Even after they had some financial stability and he had bought her more extravagant pieces, that pearl bracelet remained her most prized possession.

So why was she so willing to let it all go now?
