George didn’t believe it at first, suspecting his father was behind this. He asked Jared to explain everything in detail.
Jared laid out the facts one by one. The Capulet Group really was in trouble.

George slammed on the brakes. He had already reached the entrance to Louisa’s community, but Jared’s words kept echoing in his ears.
Having successfully turned the Capulet Group around during difficult times over several years, he certainly had exceptional abilities and could prioritize when necessary.
So ultimately, he didn’t enter the community but turned around and headed to the company instead.
Meanwhile, Louisa remained unaware of the series of events unfolding outside. With George not bothering her, she enjoyed the peace and focused on recovering.
That evening, Sadie came to have dinner with her after work and brought news from outside.
“Just as you predicted, Owen really did approach Dominic. George was ambushed by them, and although he didn’t give in, his company ran into trouble, so he rushed back to handle it.”
Louisa nodded while cutting her steak. “Then we don’t need to worry about it. Owen alone will keep pressuring him. With problems from both inside and outside, he’ll have no choice but to agree to the divorce.”
“Your strategy is truly brilliant,” Sadie remarked.
Flora rested her chin on her hand, giving Louisa a suggestive smile. “Speaking of which, Mr. Tudor deserves a lot of credit. He helped you tremendously. Shouldn’t you express your gratitude properly?”
Louisa looked at her expression. “I should, but why are you so excited about it?”
Flora fell silent. Wasn’t she trying to create an opportunity for them?
Louisa didn’t think much about it. She genuinely wanted to thank Julian. But Vivian had been in detention for two weeks, and during that time, Julian had never mentioned it to her.
Clearly, he didn’t want her to know about it. It seemed inappropriate for her to bring it up out of nowhere.
As for a thank–you gift, someone of his status had everything. She didn’t know what would be appropriate. For something this significant, any gift would seem trivial.
As Sadie and Flora had mentioned earlier, getting Vivian released and using her against George was a roundabout approach.

Chapter 126
:
Julian’s intervention had allowed her to avoid many complications and had truly been a great help.
After much thought, she took out her phone and sent Julian a message: [Mr. Tudor, thank you. I will work hard, devoting myself
completely, even unto death.]
76
Julian, working overtime at the company, saw her message and was puzzled. Had she gone crazy again, talking nonsense? He put down his
phone without replying.
Over the next few days, Louisa focused on recovery, undisturbed by anyone. A week later, her leg had mostly healed, and she prepared to
return to work.
When she arrived at the investment department, she first went to Teresa to report her return from sick leave.
Teresa was visibly displeased to see her, glancing at those enviably beautiful legs. “So, Ms. Forbes, your leg is healed?”
Louisa smiled politely. “Yes, it’s healed. Thank you for your concern, Ms. Hughes.”
“Fine. Since you’re healed, get back to work. Although the chairman personally announced that your probation period has ended early, and the CEO promoted you to team leader, the investment department doesn’t carry deadweight. You still need to prove yourself.”
Louisa was surprised to learn about her promotion.
Seeing her expression, Teresa assumed she was gloating and jealously added, “Working in the investment department isn’t easy. After all, the CEO is very busy and can’t always come to your rescue, right?”
Louisa was speechless. Did Teresa think she had handled the Aurora Media Group situation solely because of Julian’s help?
What kind of pathetic mindset assumes a woman can only rely on a man rather than having her own value?
She gave Teresa a mocking look, as if regarding her as a fool. “Yes, I’ll remember what you said, Ms. Hughes. Anything else you’d like to
advise?”
Louisa’s nonchalant attitude made Teresa feel challenged. She glared at Louisa and tossed a project file she had prepared in advance onto the desk. “You have three months to complete this project.”
Louisa picked it up and flipped through it. It was a residential project under the Tudor Group called Oakridge Commons,‘
“What exactly do you mean by ‘complete‘?” she asked as she looked through it.
“You don’t even understand that? ‘Oakridge Commons‘ and ‘Oakview Residences‘ are two projects launched simultaneously by the Tudor Group. Oakview Residences has almost sold out, while Oakridge Commons has only opened one building and barely sold any units. I’m giving you three months to sell them all.”

Louisa looked at her with an amused smile. ‘Ms. Hughes, you’re joking, right? How could anyone sell them all in just three months?
“I don’t have time to joke with you. ‘Oakview Residences‘ and ‘Oakridge Commons‘ were launched at the same time. If Oakview Residences could do it, why can’t ‘Oakridge Commons‘? If you’re not capable, resign early instead of wasting the investment department’s time and
resources.”
Louisa thought, ‘Resign? That’s probably Teresa’s real goal–to make her quit.‘ She smiled with a reluctant expression. Fine, I’ll do my
best.”
Seeing that Louisa had accepted the challenge, Teresa relaxed and stood up. “Come with me.”
When they reached Team Seven’s office area, Teresa clapped her hands and announced, “Everyone, stop for a moment. Meet your new team leader. This is the person beside me, whom you’re probably already familiar with–Louisa, who recently joined your team. Please
welcome your team leader.”
Scattered applause followed. Louisa had anticipated this reaction. Teresa deliberately referred to her as a new team member to provoke
discontent among the staff.
How could a newcomer who hadn’t even completed her probation period be promoted so quickly? How could those who had been working at the company for years waiting for promotion accept this?
Louisa smiled. “Yes, I haven’t even completed my probation period, and I do feel quite awkward about it. How about this–I’ll treat the team to dinner so we can get to know each other better. Does everyone have time this evening?”
