Chapter 150
After work, Louisa had barely settled at home when Sadie called in their friend group chat.
“I heard Vivian got out of prison today,” she said. “What happened? Did George agree to the dis
divorce?
“That sick bastard,” Louisa spat, her usual composure vanishing instantly. He called me to his office days ago, speaking so sincerely I believed him, so I got Julian to back off Vivian. But then the very next day, George changed his mind and stood me up at the courthouse.”
“I was stunned when I heard about it,” Sadie replied. “I thought you’d gotten divorced without telling us, I can’t believe that son of a bitch would go back on his word like that.”
Louisa was too angry to speak further.
Flora couldn’t help laughing. This George is truly talented–he’s managed to make our two refined literary ladies curse like sailors. I’m impressed.”
After a moment of shared silence, Sadie asked, “Now that Vivian is out, we don’t have any leverage to negotiate with George. Do you think this was his plan all along? To trick you into releasing Vivian?”
“Who cares,” Louisa replied dismissively. “If all else fails, we’ll execute my crazy idea. Sadie, find a way to leak information to Vivian that George is putting
on a show of wanting to reconcile with me. We’ll use her to keep pressuring him.”
“Will do!”
With that settled, Flora and Sadie moved on to discussing handbags. Uninterested, Louisa took her phone to her study, intending to review her proposall
Instead, she noticed the bundle of dried grass.
“Damn it!”
“What’s wrong?” her friends asked simultaneously.
“Something Julian gave me that I forgot to take care of. I’ll talk to you later.” :
After ending the call, she researched what she had assumed was just ordinary dried grass.
When the name appeared, Louisa froze. “Rose of Jericho?”
Meanwhile, Julian returned to Tudor Manor with Teresa.
With Julian now famly at the helm of the Tudor Group, William had embraced early retirement, living a life of leisure.
Julian’s mother, Adeline Brown, greeted her son and adopted daughter with a warm smile. “Why are you back so late? You must be starving. Quickly wash up
-dinner’s ready.”
Julian responded coolly, ‘III take a shower first. You all start without me,” before heading upstairs.
Of course, Julian’s parents wouldn t begin without him.

Chapter 150
William continued fiddling with his chessboard while Adeline sit with Teres in the living room, chatting.
When Adeline asked about interesting events at the company, Teresa smoothly mentioned Vivian’s visit. “Nothing particularly interesting, but something did happen today. A woman came to the office accusing a female team leader in our department of seducing her hoss despite having a husband…
“A team leader in your department? Seducing her boss?” Adeline frowned with distaste. With her fair share of wealthy life, she naturally disapproved of
workplace improprieties.
Then she realized-the investment department team leader’s boss was Teresa, also a woman. So that would mean….
With sudden intuition, Adeline asked, “Teresa, this boss you mentioned… is it Julian?”
Teresa put on a troubled expression but didn’t contradict Adeline’s assumption.
Adeline’s eyes lit up. “Really? Julian? He’s messing with some girl?”
Her tone of excitement caught Teresa off guard. Wasn’t Adeline supposed to despise workplace improprieties? Why was she so excited when her son was potentially involved?
William, overhearing their conversation, grumbled to his wife, “Is your son the type to sleep with someone without having an official relationship? You’re
getting excited too soon.
He gave Teresa a meaningful look, which she failed to notice.
Adeline deflated a bit. “What kind of person is this team leader? Is she very attractive?”
Just as Teresa was about to answer, a cold voice came from the second floor, “Did you miss or forget the company–wide announcement today? If you want
your job, you can leave right now. I won’t stop you.”
Teresa’s expression immediately soured, looking utterly wronged.
Seeing this, Adeline quickly intervened, “Alright, we were just making casual conversation, nothing serious. Let’s not discuss work matters at home. Time for
dinner. Dina, serve the meal.”
The atmosphere at the dinner table was pleasant enough. Though Julian was naturally reserved, his parents were not, chatting and laughing occasionally.
Teresa periodically served food onto Julian’s plate. “This used to be your favorite, and this too–you should eat more.”
Julian, who disliked people interfering with his affairs, merely gave her a cool look. “I know what I like to eat”
Teresa faltered awkwardly, her movements halting
Adeline didn’t notice, seeing only a handsome man and beautiful woman in a seemingly warm interaction.
She felt genuinely pleased, remarking, “Jonathan doesn’t come home, Jeffrey Jinveld all over in this city. It’s nice when you come back often so we can all enjoy family meals together.”

Teresa recognized Adeline’s attempt to create opportunities between her and Julian, Putting aside her earlier discomfort, she sailed. “I understand, Mom Adeline. Il visit more often.”
Julian merely responded with a cool. “I understand.”
