Chapter 167
“Are you questioning me?” Julian asked coldly.
Teresa felt even more aggrieved. Julian was the boss–she shouldn’t speak to him with such an attitude. But she simply couldn’t swallow her pride and stubbornly remained silent.
Julian didn’t lose his temper, but his tone was ice–cold. “You handed the department’s most challenging project to a newcomer. Do I need to expose your intentions? You deliberately made things difficult for her, yet did she complain once?
‘The Oakridge Commons‘ project has faced countless obstacles. As Investment Director, instead of assisting her, you’ve created problems at every turn. Are you really acting like a department director?
“You ask where I’ve placed you? I want to ask: where have you placed yourself? And where have you placed the company?”
Each sentence cut like a knife.

Teresa’s eyes reddened. He had never spoken to her with such a cutting tone before. But ever since Louisa appeared, this was how he addressed her every
time, with increasing impatience.
She bit her lip in frustration, her assertiveness gradually weakening. “So you’re saying you allow her to bypass me in everything she does, is that right? If
that’s the case, why not just let her replace me?”
The last sentence carried a petulant tone.
Julian caught it. His piercing eyes stared directly at her, his voice filled with bone–chilling coldness, “Don’t think that just because my mother arranged your position and you have no ulterior motives toward the company, I won’t remove you. If you lack both talent and virtue, I’ll replace you with anyone suitable!
Teresa’s knees weakened, and she nearly lost her balance. She knew he meant what he said. She just never expected him to treat her this way.
With reddened eyes, she glared at him. “Fine, fine! I’ll make you see me differently.”
With that, she turned and left, slamming the door behind her.
Only she would dare to show such temper in front of Julian.
Teddy was speechless. After closing the door properly, he said to Julian, “I used to think Ms. Hughes was a good person, dedicated to you and the company.
How did she become like this?”
Julian sighed. ‘Louisa’s abilities are too strong; Teresa feels threatened. In fact, most people can’t match Louisa’s capabilities.
But ability isn’t the only foundation. If Teresa could broaden her perspective, keeping her wouldn’t be out of the question.”
Teddy was surprised. “Are you planning to remove Ms. Hughes?*
Julian pondered for a moment. “Let’s wait and sec.”
Teresa’s eyes were still red when she returned to her office. Her assistant Hatty was startled and asked with concern, “Ms. Hughes, are you alright?”

Chapter 167
Teresa didn’t respond, dropping heavily into her chair. She was determined to outperform Louisa.
After all, she was a lady of the Tudor and Hughes families, raised with the finest education. How could she not surpass someone from a modest background
like Louisa?
But she was furious, especially when she thought about Julian’s attitude toward her.
With nowhere to vent her anger and resentment, she swept the files off her desk in rage.
Hatty trembled in fear, not daring to speak. She silently picked up the scattered files, placed them back on the desk, and prepared to leave.
“Wait, Teresa called out, breathing heavily.
Hatty cautiously asked, “Do you have any other instructions, Ms. Hughes?”
Teresa took a deep breath and asked, “Do you have any ideas on how to deal with Louisa?”
Hatty didn’t understand, so Teresa briefly explained the situation. She no longer hid her jealousy, desperately wanting to drive Louisa out of the company.
Hatty thought for a moment. “I think there are two approaches. First, continue making things difficult for Louisa. The ‘Oakridge Commons‘ project is challenging, and I’ve heard she’s struggling with promotion.
“If you don’t approve her requests, she won’t get promotional funding, which means she can’t fulfill her performance agreement with you. When the three months are up, she’ll have to leave the company.”
-even if I don’t sign off on her requests, she can go directly to Mr.
Teresa immediately rejected the idea. “That won’t work. That woman is so unpredictable-
Tudor for approval.”
Moreover, seeing how Julian protected Louisa, he might keep her even if she failed to meet the agreement terms. This approach was useless.
“Then there’s only the second option,” Hatty continued. “Assist her. Whatever she needs, we help her complete the project. Afterward, we take the credit, claiming the achievement as our own, leaving her unable to complain.
“At that point, even if Mr. Tudor wants to protect her, he’ll have to consider the other employees in the company, right?”
Teresa carefully considered this. “That… could work…”
At this point, she just wanted Louisa out of the company. She no longer cared whether her methods were honorable.
All the pride she had as a wealthy young lady had crumbled in the face of Louisa’s abilities. She had to resort to any means necessary.
Meanwhile, Louisa had no idea what schemes were being plotted against her. She was still pondering the promotion problem.
Neither of Marlee’s two suggestions were viable. She couldn’t further deplete profits, nor could she go through the company’s promotional channels and wait day after day for approval.
If anyone decided to block her request along the way, all her efforts would be wasted.
As the end of the workday approached, she made a decision. She took out her phone and dialed a number.

The call connected quickly, revealing a sweet yet vibrant female voice, “Hello, Ms. Forbes! Your timing is perfect. What can I do for you?”
“Where are you? Silverlight City?” Louisa asked.
“Yes, just landed. That’s why I said your timing is perfect. What’s up, missing me?” the woman replied.
Louisa got straight to the point. ‘I need your help with something. Can we meet to discuss it?”
“Sure,” the woman agreed immediately without asking for details. “Let’s go to your place.”
