Chapter 170
Louisa’s greatest fear had always been owing favors to others.
I’ll do anything within my capabilities, Louisa added quickly, seeing Julian actually considering her offer. “But nothing immoral.
Her serious tone suggested she genuinely feared he might ask her to commit some heinous crime.
Julian arched an eyebrow. “Then tell me, what exactly can you do for me?”
Louisa considered this carefully. Given his status and wealth, Julian Tudor was privileged in every way–lacking nothing, needing nothing.
What could she possibly offer someone who had everything?
“How about I work for you for five years without salary?” she suggested tentatively. “Free labor–how’s that?”
It was the only thing she could think of, and it represented a significant commitment.
Julian scoffed. “You think I need the money you earn?”
“Come on! What do you want?” she asked, exasperated.
“Starting tomorrow, you’ll be responsible for waking me up.”
“What?” The request was so unexpected that Louisa thought she’d misheard. Her hands froze mid–bandage, then unconsciously tightened around his injured
arm.
Julian winced. “Ms. Forbes, do you have some personal vendetta against my arm?”
“I’m so sorry!” Louisa realized she’d pulled the bandage too tight and quickly loosened her grip.
Meeting his penetrating gaze, she asked, “You weren’t serious about the waking–up thing, were you?”
“You’re welcome to remain in my debt if you prefer,” Julian shrugged. “I’m not forcing you.”
Louisa was speechless. She couldn’t comprehend the workings of this rich man’s mind.
Five life–saving debts, and all he wanted was for her to wake him up? Anyone could do that job. Was this simple task really worth more than five years of
her professional expertise?
No matter how she analyzed it, he seemed to be getting the raw end of the deal.
Julian watched her furrowed brow with amusement. He tapped her forehead with his knuckle. “Ms. Forbes, mathematical genius, business prodigy–does it really take you this long to calculate such a simple equation?”
She silently pouted. Wasn’t he the one who couldn’t do the math here?
After careful consideration, she made her decision. “Fine, but you have to promise that once I start waking you up, you’ll stop using those life–saving favors to manipulate me.”

“Agreed, he replied without hesitation.
Louisa’s suspicion deepened. Had she just walked into some kind of trap?
“Is there something else bothering you?” Julian asked, watching her expression with barely concealed amusement.
“No, nothing, she replied, unable to articulate her concerns.
After finishing the bandage, she left his apartment, still puzzled by Julian’s reasoning.
Was there something wrong with him? Or was she missing something obvious? Unable to make sense of it, she decided to let it go.
By the time she showered and got into bed, it was nearly one in the morning. She fell asleep almost immediately.
The next day, predictably, she overslept.
Her new job completely slipped her mind as she got ready and headed straight to work.
At the office, she immersed herself in her busy schedule, focusing primarily on the ‘Oakridge Commons‘ project.
Around eleven, she reached for her phone to call Rachel about their afternoon filming schedule.
When she saw the time displayed on the lock screen, realization hit her like a bucket of cold water–she had forgotten to wake Julian up.
“Damn it!” She smacked her forehead.
Julian’s schedule was meticulously planned in advance. If one appointment ran late, it would create a domino effect throughout his day.
Yet calling him now seemed awkward. What if she interrupted something important?
After deliberating, she decided the safest approach was to call Teddy first to assess the situation.
Meanwhile, on the 36th floor, Julian was still in a meeting.
Teddy had just stepped out of the conference room to arrange lunch when Louisa’s call came through.
‘Louisa, what’s up?” he answered casually.
She briefly explained how she’d forgotten to wake Julian.
‘You two are moving that fast already?” Teddy’s excitement was immediate and unmistakable. “You’re at the ‘wake–up call‘ stage?”
“Why do you sound so thrilled?” Louisa asked suspiciously. ‘Is there something I should know?”
Teddy quickly backpedaled. “No, no, nothing at all. You’re overthinking it. The boss just has a bit of a… morning temperament.”
“What kind of morning temperament?” Louisa pressed, now sensing the faint whiff of conspiracy. “Explain.”
Seeing no way out, Teddy confessed. Julian was perfect in almost every way–good–tempered, emotionally stable–except for his morning habits.

Chapter 170
“If he tells you to wake him at a specific time, you must do exactly that,” Teddy explained. “If he hasn’t slept enough, you won’t be able to wake him. But if you let him sleep in and he’s late, he’ll blame you: ‘What good are you?”
Teddy couldn’t help feeling excited that this responsibility had now fallen to Louisa–he was finally free from this particular torment.
Louisa was speechless. Yesterday she’d thought Julian was the one with issues.
Now she realized she was the one who’d been played. She had unwittingly walked right into his trap.
“Look on the bright side, Teddy tried to comfort her, ‘most women would be thrilled to have this opportunity…”
On the other end of the line, Louisa wore an expression of complete resignation, no longer interested in continuing the conversation.
While Teddy was still cheerfully consoling her, delighted at his own escape from morning duty, a chilling voice suddenly spoke from behind him:
“What opportunity?”
