After the Affair Falling into a Billionaire's Arms novel Chapter 184

Chapter 184

Was it Saul’s antics that had put Julian in a bad mood? Poor Cedric, caught in the crossfire.

Mr. Tudor, I’ll take the luggage upstairs,Louisa said, not thinking much of it and picking up a suitcase in each hand.

Since they were only staying for one day, the bags contained just some change of clothes and toiletriesnothing too heavy. She could

manage them herself.

However, as she started up the stairs, a hand suddenly reached out and took one of the suitcases from her. Before she knew it, her other

hand was empty too.

She turned to see Julian holding both bags.

Louisa was stunned. The CEO carrying his assistant’s luggage? Was this some kind of perk? But his hand was still injured.

She was about to offer to take them back when Julian brushed past her with the suitcases, leaving a cold breeze in his wake.

Was he still angry?

The building Cedric had arranged was a twostory villa. All the bedrooms were on the second floor.

The master suite, complete with a living room, bedroom, and study, naturally went to Julian. There were two additional guest rooms. Though not as spacious as the master, they had the same orientation with spectacular views.

Louisa chose one for herself, then went to Julian’s room to unpack his luggage. Though she wasn’t sure what Teddy usually did, she had

experience as George’s secretary.

She washed her hands, opened Julian’s suitcase, and hung up his clothes one by one. She also arranged his personal items where they

belonged.

Seeing that Julian was on the phone, she didn’t disturb him and returned to her own room. After unpacking her own things, she settled onto the sofa beneath the window.

She hadn’t slept well the night before and had spent most of the day traveling, so she was tired. She relaxed lazily, enjoying the view.

Soon, Cedric messaged her: [Ms. Forbes, Mr. McCarthy is awake. He suggests that since it’s getting late and Mr. Tudor must be tired, we should schedule both the tour and inspection ceremony for tomorrow. Mr. Tudor can rest today, and this evening, Mr. McCarthy would like to invite him over for wine tasting.]

Louisa pondered the words. Wine tasting? Those twelve beautiful women were probably part of that setup.

She laughed coldly to herself. Julian, with his obsession with cleanliness, would never be interested in women who were, in her opinion, thoroughly soiled. This Saul was going to be disappointed.

Still, she politely replied: 11 understand. I’ll inform Mr. Tudor.]

She went to Julian’s room and knocked. There was no response. She knocked again. Still nothing.

Was he asleep? Taking a shower? Or perhaps on a video call with his boyfriend?

She remembered hearing him on the phone when she left, addressing someone as Mr. Getty. That must be his boyfriend. Better not

disturb him.

Besides, since today’s official activities had been canceled, there was no rush.

She returned to her room.

About an hour later, Cedric messaged again: [Ms. Forbes, what did Mr. Tudor say? Mr. McCarthy says if Mr. Tudor doesn’t want to come over, he’s willing to visit Mr. Tudor instead.]

Then he added: [This old fox is so cunning.]

Louisa laughed at his comment and replied: [Mr. Tudor is resting, and I don’t want to disturb him, so I can’t confirm his preference. Perhaps Mr. McCarthy could wait a bit longer? I’ll let you know as soon as Mr. Tudor is available.]

Cedric sent back a frustrated emoji. Being the messenger between bosses was thankless workone wrong move and you’d mess everything

  1. up.

Louisa completely understood his feelings and sent back a smiley face.

She wondered if Julian was available now. Just then, a message came from him: [Come here.]

Louisa sighed. Always the same command, as if she were a pet puppy to be summoned at will. And she couldn’t even object. She went over

and knocked.

This time, the response was immediate, Come in.

Louisa opened the door. He sat in an armchair by the panoramic window, halfturned away from her, looking at his phonethe picture of refined elegance.

So he had been video chatting with his boyfriend after all. Good thing she hadn’t interrupted.

Noticing a cup of tea on the table, she couldn’t help but wonderhe was this restrained while talking to his boyfriend? How did he manage?

As she pondered this, he suddenly turned to look at her, catching her thoughtful, puzzled expression. Without asking, he seemed to know

exactly what she was thinking.

He sighed. Ms. Forbes, are you even aware that you’re a woman?

Louisa was utterly confused. What did that mean? Was he indirectly insulting her femininity? He preferred men, yet had the nerve to

question her womanhood?

No, she wouldn’t get angry. She wouldn’t.

Suppressing her irritation, she approached him with a professional, if slightly forced, smile. Mr. Tudor, Mr. McCarthy has sent word-

twice.

The first time, an hour and ten minutes ago, he said that today’s schedule is canceled. Everything will be concentrated tomorrow. Tonight

at eight, he invites you for wine tasting.

The second time was just nowhe said if you don’t want to go to him, he’ll come to you instead.

Julian didn’t answer immediately, appearing lost in thought.

Thinking he was displeased with her initiative, she quickly added, The first time, I did come knock, but you didn’t answer, so I took the liberty of not responding to him.

Julian glanced at her and chuckled dismissively. I’m not blaming you. Why the explanation? You didn’t answer him, so you didn’t answer

him.

His tone was casual. Then he checked his watch. Tell them I’ll be there at eight.

Understood.She acknowledged, but didn’t move.

Julian frowned. What else?

Louisa hesitated, then spoke her mind, Mr. Tudor, I don’t think this Mr. McCarthy has good intentions. He brought all those beautiful womenhe’s clearly trying to bribe you, to pull you into that circle of debauchery.

As she said this, her face showed a hint of indignation.

Julian appeared unsurprised and asked lightly, Are you worried?

Louisa didn’t understand. Worried about what?

Julian gave a faint smile. Worried that I’ll fall intothat circle.
