Midway through the meal, Julian stepped out to take a phone call.

Donald sat down beside Louisa with a bottle of liquor, pouring her a glass. “This my own brew,” he said enthusiastically. “Try it and tell me what you

Out of politeness, Louisa took a sip. “It has a nice malt aroma and caramel sweetness without an overpowering alcohol taste. It’s really good.” She took

another appreciative sip.

Donald beamed with pride. “Of course it is! My family has been brewing professionally for generations. Julian bought my club just for this liquor.”

Louisa paused. ‘For the liquor?”

“Yes,” Donald smiled. “It’s made with whole wheat and natural ingredients. Most importantly, it’s smooth and doesn’t upset the stomach.”

“I can tell, Louisa said. “It’s gentle on the digestive system. Though marketing something like this might be challenging.”

Donald didn’t respond, just gave her a knowing look.

His gaze made Louisa uncomfortable. “What? Did I say something wrong?”

“Not exactly, Donald replied. “Julian said the same thing. But he’s not interested in its commercial value–he bought it purely for someone.”

Louisa didn’t know how to respond.

Teddy and Noah looked at Donald simultaneously. “For who?”

“How would I know?” Donald shrugged. ‘But Julian mentioned having a girl at home who’s a lightweight but loves to drink. So it must be for this woman.”

Noah suppressed a laugh and scooted his chair closer to Louisa. “The lightweight who loves drinking? Julian’s talking about you, isn’t he?

Im not a lightweight! Louisa protested.

Teddy chimed in, “Whether you are or not, we just know you’re the only woman Julian’s life.”

Louisa blushed and focused intently on her food.

When Julian returned from his call, he found an odd scene: Donald, Teddy, and Nah all smiling at Louisa, while she concentrated on eating as if the three

men didn’t exist.

“What’s going on?” Julian asked as he sat down.

Louisa began eating even faster, as if that would let her avoid the question.

But Louisa’s thoughts were far from quiet. She hadn’t expected Julian would acquire a liquor brand because of her.

Her eagerness to maintain distance was obvious.

Julian gave her a cold glance but said nothing.

Louisa felt awkward and decided to stay quiet as well.

Noah, watching them from the driver’s seat, was about to explode with frustration. “Louisa, Julian bought this liquor specifically for you. Why are you trying

to keep everything so transactional? With everything between you two, do you really think you can keep such clear accounts?”

Louisa fell silent again.

She did owe Julian too much.
