Chapter 360

In fact, not just Julian – everyone in the room was completely baffled by Louisa’s little manc
Bob and Teddy exchanged glances, thinking: Louisa just arranged to meet another man right in front of Julian? Did she have a death wish
or something?
Noah stared at Louisa, slack–jawed, “Ms. Forbes, are you planning to date two men at once?”
Louisa was taking a deliberately calm sip of water when she heard this and immediately choked.
Julian pulled out two tissues for her while simultaneously giving her an icy look.
Louisa took them, about to speak, when Julian had already set down his knife and fork.
He said with perfect politeness to Brian across from him, “I’m finished, Mr. Forbes. Please, take your time.”
“Alright.”
Brian nodded somewhat automatically.
Julian rose and headed to his room.
Though he hadn’t thrown a tantrum, everyone present except Brian knew – Julian was pissed. The kind that wouldn’t be easily soothed.
An awkward silence descended over the table as everyone’s eyes swiveled to Louisa.
Louisa instinctively wanted to chase after him, to soothe the angry Julian, or at least explain the situation. But seeing her father across from her, she forced herself to stay glued to her chair.
She’d have to see her dad off first, then explain things to Julian. She really wasn’t ready to t
about her and Julian yet.
They quickly wrapped up breakfast, and Louisa took her father back to her place.
Brian didn’t ask anything, didn’t even mention Julian’s name. Instead, Louisa kept slipping up.
First, while helping her father pack, she took out things he needed to take with him and stuffed back in things he’d brought for her. She said she’d pour her father water, then poured it and drank it herself. And no matter what she was doing, she clutched her phone, checking
it constantly.
Brian sighed. “Louisa, I’ll pack. Why don’t you go upstairs and change? We should be heading out soon.”
Louisa nodded and flew upstairs.

Chapter 360
Sitting on her bed, she opened her phone again, staring at her conversation thread with Julian. S!
One said she needed time off she had to take her father to the station today.

sent him two messages.
One explaining the situation with Ryder Wilson: she wasn’t going on a blind date; she just wanted to clear things up with him.
Julian hadn’t replied. Fifteen minutes had passed.
She stared at the ‘read‘ indicator on her phone. He’d clearly seen her messages, but still wasn’t responding.
She sent one more message: [You know what’s going on now. Can you please not be mad?]
Still left on read.
Louisa stared at her phone for two more minutes, confirming he had no intention of replying.
Fine. She’d figure something out later.
Brian’s voice drifted up from downstairs: “Louisa, are you ready? We need to go.”
“Coming.”
Louisa pocketed her phone, changed clothes, and headed out with her father.
She’d booked her father a ticket for three in the afternoon. They had over five hours before departure.
Louisa first accompanied her father to pay respects to one of his old friends. They still had plenty of time. After that, she took her father to the mall and bought him lots of clothes he’d never splurge on himself, plus gifts for her mother. Finally, she treated Brian to lunch before driving him to the train station.
During those five–plus hours, she didn’t glance at her phone once.
On the way to the station, Brian sat in the passenger seat watching Louisa’s composed profile and sighed silently.
As a father, how could he not understand what was on Louisa’s mind?
Julian’s a good man.”
He finally said it.
Louisa’s grip tightened slightly on the steering wheel. She said nothing.
Brian continued: “I think you could give him a chance.”

Chapter 360
After just one night, her father was already Team Julian?
Louisa glanced at her father. “What exactly did he tell you?”
Brian: “He said he’s pursuing you.”
Louisa couldn’t find words. Julian had respected her wishes after all he hadn’t told her father about their relationship.

Brian: “I didn’t approve of you being with George for many reasons beyond that prenup they made you sign.”
Of course, the biggest reason was that George’s father was one of Louisa’s father’s killers. That blood debt still remained unpaid. But Brian
never mentioned this.
He continued: “Don’t be fooled by the Capulet family’s elite status now. Only Dominic knows how much dirty, underhanded dealing went into building the Capulet Group. That thug mentality runs in their blood. You were with George for ten years – you know his character best. When it came to the Capulet family never accepting you, what did he do? Besides stubbornly fighting with his parents, what else did he accomplish? Frankly, aside from having some business sense and being cold–blooded enough, most of the time, he was basically a child with zero problem–solving skills.”
Louisa nodded, not denying it at all. Brian wasn’t wrong. That’s exactly who George was.
She guessed, following this line of reasoning, that her father was about to say Julian was different from George?
Brian: “Julian is different from George…”
Louisa nearly burst out laughing.
Brian frowned. “What’s that look for?”
Louisa: “Nothing. Please, go on.”
She was curious to hear her father’s take on Julian.
Brian sighed. “The Tudor Group has a century of legacy. The Tudor family is known for a strict upbringing. Julian has excellent manners, a gentle temperament, and emotional stability. As a husband, he’s far more suitable than George ever was. If you were with him, I wouldn’t
object.”
