Julian refused directly, “Your savior, you can repay her however you want. Don’t drag me into it.”
The implication: he wouldn’t accept this thinly–veiled blind date.
Adeline was left speechless, looking at her son with some dejection.
Julian completely ignored his mother’s aggrieved expression, saying coolly, ‘Rest well. Recently, no matter who comes to see you, don’t
receive them.
He raised his hand to check his watch. “Time’s about up. I need to go. Amelia and Alicia are both on their way back. Jonathan and Jeffrey have also bought plane tickets, and Justin is on a flight too. They’ll all be home to keep you company. just relax.”
Hearing this, Adeline couldn’t say more and instructed. Then go. Take care of yourself, don’t be too…”
Before she could finish, William waved at his son. “Hurry and go.”
Julian and Teddy left the hospital room.
They also called Noah from the adjacent rest room where he’d been sleeping.
On the way back, Julian leaned against the seat back with his eyes closed, rubbing his temples.
After a moment, he called Louisa.
It didn’t ring long before she answered, “Mr. Tudor, do you have any instructions?”
Her cold, perfunctory tone made Julian’s heart jolt.
He snapped his eyes open, wanting to say something, but the words changed when they reached his lips. “Wait for me at home. I’ll be
back soon.”
Louisa replied coolly, ‘Okay, I understand.”
After she finished speaking, Julian didn’t hang up.
Louisa didn’t hang up immediately either.
Seeing Julian wasn’t speaking, she took the initiative to ask, “Does Mr. Tudor have any other instructions?”
Still that detached tone, as if she had no connection to him whatsoever.

Julian called out gently, “Louisa…”
Louisa seemed to know what he wanted to say and cut him off a beat faster. “If Mr. Tudor has nothing else, I’m hanging up now.”
As soon as she finished speaking, without waiting for Julian’s response, Louisa hung up directly.
Her decisive, merciless action hit Julian’s heart like a heavy stone.
Teddy glanced in the rearview mirror. What was going on?
Something seemed very wrong.
Julian was still thinking about Louisa’s tone on the phone.
He could tell she was somewhat unhappy.
Was she angry with him? Because he hadn’t gone to pick her up first thing last night?
He admitted that when his mother had called in terror for help last night, he’d panicked a bit and only thought about rushing her to the hospital, forgetting to properly settle things with Louisa.
He didn’t know what she’d gone through on her end…
Thinking of this, he looked at the person in the passenger seat. “Noah.”
Noah had worked hard all day yesterday and hadn’t rested well. He was in the passenger seat, wearing headphones and listening to music.
When Julian called him, he didn’t even hear it.
Teddy, who was driving, yanked off one of his earbuds. “Mr. Tudor is calling you.”
Noah turned to look at Julian. ‘Mr. Tudor, you called me?”
Julian asked, ‘Last night when you took Louisa back to her apartment, did she say anything?”
Noah didn’t dare tell the truth. “No, Ms. Forbes seemed pretty happy.”
Julian frowned. ‘Pretty happy?‘
Noah said, “Yeah, she even told me to rest well and thanked me.”
How could he dare admit he hadn’t actually picked up Louisa at all?

Chapter 426
Anyway, Louisa had gotten home safely and hadn’t been angry with him, so wasn’t the matter settled?
Julian saw through his guilt and directly smacked him on the forehead. “What really happened? Tell me clearly.”
Seeing he couldn’t escape, Noah said with a bitter face, “Alright, I’ll tell you the truth. Actually, I didn’t pick up Ms. Forbes and the others
yesterday. They got home on their own… And when I said they were somewhere safe, that was just my guess…”
Seeing Julian’s expression change drastically, Noah quickly continued, “But Ms. Forbes really did get home safely. When I called to explain,
she wasn’t angry at all. She forgave me right away and even comforted me not to overthink it.”
Louisa was truly beautiful inside and out.
Julian asked him what exactly Louisa had said.
Noah, relying on his memory, recounted it as accurately as possible.
After listening, Julian fell silent.
Teddy was also internally speechless. Was Noah an idiot?
Julian stopped talking, closed his eyes, and rubbed his temples.
Seeing this, Noah felt terribly guilty, like a big dog that had done something wrong. “Mr. Tudor, I’m sorry. It’s all my fault. Scold me, or
better yet, hit me.”
“What good would hitting you do? In this matter, my mistake was far more serious than yours.” Julian’s tone was heavy, making people
feel somewhat sad when hearing it.
Noah didn’t understand. “Why? I was the one who didn’t pick them up. What does it have to do with you?”
Julian knew he couldn’t explain it clearly to him, so he stopped talking.
Noah became even more depressed, looking at Teddy for help, asking what was really going on.
Teddy sighed and gestured to the headphones in his hand. “Just listen to your music.”
In the back seat.
Julian thought for a moment, wanting to send Louisa a message.
But the instant he opened his messages, he saw the message Louisa had sent last night.
When the full content appeared before his eyes, his face paled slightly.

He’d thought things were already complicated enough, but seeing the message, he realized they were even more so.
