Chapter 483
Louisa froze.
Did she like Julian?
The answer was yes.
She just hadn’t expected Brian to ask so directly.
She hesitated for a moment, then admitted, “I do.”
Even though she knew she and Julian had no future.
Even though she kept telling herself it was purely physical, nothing emotional.
But she knew–she liked Julian.
She would never sleep with a man she didn’t like at all.
Brian asked, “So what’s your relationship with him now?”
“We… we don’t have one.”
“What do you mean you ‘don’t have one‘?” Brian’s tone turned sharp.
Louisa flinched.
In her entire life, she could count on one hand the number of times her father had been this stern with her.
Brian wasn’t a particularly patient man by nature.
He just couldn’t bring himself to lose his temper with his daughter.
So when he did get strict, when he did get angry–it meant he was really, really upset.
Louisa wasn’t afraid of her father’s anger.
She was afraid of hurting him. Afraid of disappointing him.
Brian cut straight to the point. “If you’ve already slept with him, what are you planning to do next?”
Louisa shook her head.

She didn’t know how to answer.
She couldn’t exactly tell her father she was planning to break up with him, could she?
Her thing with Julian had started because of hormones. She’d never had the courage or confidence for more.
Even if she liked him.
Even if her heart raced for him.
Those feelings were trivial compared to the reality that Julian was backed by the entire Tudor family.
In the face of that, all her affection and attraction would become nothing but a joke.
Brian was furious. He slammed his hand on the coffee table. “You didn’t think about what comes next, and you just slept with him? Louisa, what have I been teaching you your whole life? If you’re not planning to marry someone, you don’t just do that kind of thing with them. Where’s your self–respect? Your dignity?”
Louisa felt ashamed under her father’s reproach. She lowered her head. “I’m sorry, Dad. Please don’t be angry.”
Brian fell silent.
How could he not be angry?
He forced himself to calm down and laid out the situation for Louisa. “You need to figure out what you want next. If you’re not planning to marry him, you should resign from the Tudor Group and cut ties with Julian completely. But if you do want to marry him, I’ll help you. I’ll go talk to the Tudor family myself…”
Louisa was terrified.
That was exactly why she hadn’t wanted Julian to face Brian.
If Brian found out she’d slept with Julian, he’d demand they get married. He’d fight tooth and nail for her.
She didn’t want to see Brian humiliated by those wealthy families for her sake.
Brian patted the back of her hand. “Sweetheart, don’t worry. Don’t be afraid. As long as you like him, your dad will fight for you.”
If it came to it, he’d send her back to the Getty family.
Though the Getty family was a viper’s nest right now–especially with that devil Lorelei.
But her biological brother was still there.

Chapter 483
Nicholas had a certain standing in the Getty family now. Surely he could protect her from harm?
Besides, one day she’d have to avenge her birth parents.
She’d have to return to the Getty family eventually.
If social status was the only thing standing between her and Julian, he’d send her back to the Getty family so she could be with Julian in peace.
The question was–would she be completely safe if she returned to the Getty family now?
Over the years, he hadn’t just raised her as the Getty heiress. He’d treated her as his own daughter.
Louisa had no idea what her father was thinking.
She only saw him

Chapter 483
At noon, she invited Sadie to lunch.
But during the meal, Sadie suddenly said, “Mr. Forbes, did you tell Louisa about that thing?”
Brian’s face darkened. I forgot.”
This morning, seeing Louisa and Julian together, his emotions had taken over and he’d completely forgotten.
Louisa paused mid–bite, her eyes darting between the two of them. “What thing?”
Brian and Sadie exchanged a glance.
Finally, Brian spoke, looking at Louisa with reluctance. “Louisa… Hawk got out of prison. I found out last night. I was worried he might try to hurt you, so I came over first thing this morning.”
