Chapter 492
In that moment, Louisa didn’t think about anything else. She didn’t even have time to put on shoes.
She got out of bed and ran downstairs.
In the hallway, Julian had just opened his door when he heard movement behind him. He turned and saw Louisa.
She stood in her doorway, wearing only a thin nightgown, her long hair loose and slightly disheveled. She radiated a soft, quiet beauty.
She looked at him silently.
In that moment, he was all she saw.
After a long moment of eye contact, she came back to herself and smiled faintly at him. “You’re back?”
Julian was about to speak when he noticed she wasn’t wearing shoes.
He frowned slightly, strode over to her, and scooped her up into his arms. “Why aren’t you wearing shoes?”
“I was in a hurry.” This time, Louisa didn’t hide her feelings.
She was leaving anyway. She might
as well
what she say
wanted to say.
Julian heard those words, and the shadow of melancholy between his brows began to fade.
His eyes grew brighter and brighter, shining brilliantly as he looked at her.
Then he carried her toward his place.
Louisa nestled obediently in his arms.
He brought her into his home, into his bedroom, and gently laid her on the bed.
His hands braced on either side of her body as he leaned over her, his voice low and alluring. “In a hurry for
what?”
Louisa looked back at him but said nothing.
The answer didn’t need to be asked.

Chapter 492
The longing of the past few days had already overflowed.
He lowered his head, and his kisses came crashing over her like a tidal wave, fierce and consuming.
Louisa could barely keep up. She was forced to wrap her arms around his neck and respond just as intensely.
As they kissed passionately, she felt like she couldn’t breathe. Gasping for air, she pushed him away. “The door’s still open.”
Julian chuckled softly and lingered on her lips a while longer. “I’ll go close it.”
His suitcase was still by the door too.
He went out, locked her door, and brought his suitcase into the living room.
When he returned to the bedroom, she was sitting on the bed, watching him quietly, a hint of shyness on her face.
Julian’s heart stirred. He took off his suit jacket, walked over, leaned down in front of her, and said softly, “I need
to take a shower first. Want to join me?”
Louisa shook her head. “I already showered.”
“Did you?” Julian echoed her words but didn’t seem in any hurry to shower.
He continued kissing her, and when she was dizzy from it, he whispered in her ear, “Take another one.”
Louisa, dazed, agreed.
That shower lasted two hours.
By the time they finished, Louisa’s legs were so weak she could barely stand.
Julian carried her out of the bathroom.
They sat on the edge of the bed. He held a hairdryer and dried her hair while she leaned limply against him.
When her hair was half dry, he turned off the dryer and looked down at her.
She looked back at him.
As their eyes met, he felt like there were so many things she wanted to say but couldn’t.
Chapter 492
He laid her down on the bed and lay beside her.
He looked at her, his hand cupping her face, his fingers gently tracing her brow. “Do you have something you want to tell me?”
“Just one thing.” In this moment, Louisa stopped suppressing her feelings.
Julian gazed at her tenderly and patiently. “What is it?”
Louisa looked at him and smiled faintly. “I missed you.”
The moment those words left her lips, Julian felt like the entire world went silent.
That was enough.
Those words were enough.
Nothing else mattered.
His kiss came down on her again.
Louisa responded passionately.

Outside the window, the sky had already brightened.
Sunlight filtered through the dappled shadows of trees, falling on the pale gray curtains.
Louisa felt warmth all over her body–whether from the sunlight or from having Julian beside her, she didn’t know.
He drove into her relentlessly, each thrust reaching the deepest part of her.
Louisa couldn’t suppress her cries.
Once more, they reached the peak of desire together.
When it was over, Louisa felt like her body wasn’t her own anymore. She had no strength left, and her throat was
dry and hoarse.
Julian buried his face in the curve of her neck, breathing in her scent.
“I’m thirsty. Go get me some water.”

Chapter 492
“Okay.” He murmured softly, his voice low and tender, devastatingly sexy.
He got out of bed, threw on a robe, and went out to get her water.
Just then, the phone on the nightstand vibrated.
Louisa turned to look. It was Julian’s phone. The caller ID read: Mom.
In that instant, Louisa felt like the blood that had finally warmed in her veins turned cold again.
She didn’t touch his phone.
When Julian came back in with a glass of water, the phone had already stopped ringing.
He didn’t notice the lit screen. He sat on the edge of the bed and helped Louisa sit up to drink.
Louisa drank most of the glass.
She set the cup on the nightstand and said to Julian, “Your mom called.”
Julian paused slightly.
He didn’t immediately reach for his phone. Instead, he looked down at Louisa.
Her tone was calm, betraying no emotion.
She smiled at him. “Why don’t you call her back first? I’ll change the sheets.”
She always had a sense of boundaries and knew how to be considerate.
Her words were tactful yet didn’t make anyone uncomfortable.
Julian watched her quietly, still saying nothing.
Louisa felt uneasy under that all–seeing gaze. Her words carried a hint of guilt. “Why are you staring at me?”
After a moment of silence, Julian asked, “Can you still not forgive me for that night?”
“Which night?” Louisa didn’t immediately understand what he meant.
When their eyes met, she realized instantly—he was talking about the banquet, the night he left her to save his
mother.
Chapter 492
She said lightly, “I was never angry about it.”
He went to save his mother. That was only natural. How could she be angry about that?
Julian looked at her in silence. He wanted to say something but ultimately didn’t.
Not being angry didn’t mean it didn’t matter.
She wasn’t angry because the person was his mother–she couldn’t be angry.
But he had still left her behind.
She wouldn’t make scene over it. She would just quietly shut him out of her world.
Louisa didn’t want to continue this conversation.
In a few hours, she’d be gone.
Once she left, it would be over for good.
She just wanted to spend these last few hours with him. Part on good terms.
She didn’t want to bring up the past anymore.
She looked at his tired face. “You must be exhausted. Get some sleep.”
The plan had been for him to return tomorrow afternoon, but he’d come back at dawn today.
She could imagine–he’d worked through the night without rest just to come back.
Julian pulled her down onto the bed with him. “Stay with me.”
