Chapter 503
Louisa had already mentally prepared herself.
If he wanted to lose his temper, she’d lose her temper right back at him.
His mother had been the one to tell her to leave–so why should she bear the brunt of his anger?
Why didn’t he go yell at his mother instead?
Louisa had already rehearsed a whole speech in her head. But the expected explosion of rage never came.
Julian walked to the kitchen counter and poured a glass of warm water.
Louisa slowly followed him.
He pushed the glass toward her. “You talked so much. You must be thirsty. Drink some water.”
His tone was flat, emotionless.
Louisa didn’t know whether he was being passive–aggressive or if he’d actually calmed down to this extent.
She cautiously looked up at him. “You’re not angry anymore?*
Julian said nothing. He just looked at her–with a gaze that was cold and piercing.
Louisa felt her scalp prickle under his stare.
Why was she standing here letting him judge her like this?
His mother was the chairman’s wife. His mother told her to leave. Could she refuse?
Did he expect her to rat his mother out to him and start a war between mother and son, making herself the villain who destroyed their
relationship?
She steeled herself. At worst, they’d just break up.
She was about to speak.
But suddenly, Julian reached out and pulled her into his arms.
Louisa was completely thrown by his unexpected move.
Julian lowered his head, seeking her lips.
He pressed her against the counter.

Chapter 503-
He trapped her between his body and the surface.
He kissed her fiercely, as if pouring all his fury into the kiss. He kissed her until she couldn’t breathe.
Louisa didn’t even have a chance to fight back.
She was dizzy, on the verge of suffocation, before he pally released her and looked down at her red, swollen lips.
Louisa met his gaze, her heart racing wildly.
Less than a second later, he leaned in again and kissed her once more.
But this time it was gentle, tender–carrying an inexplicable sorrow and heaviness.
As he kissed her, he murmured, “I’m sorry. I let you suffer.”
Louisa’s defenses crumbled.
She wasn’t afraid of his anger or his temper. She was only afraid of him speaking to her in this gentle tone.
He was so angry, yet he was still thinking of her feelings.
Her emotions were a tangled mess. She couldn’t put them into words. All she could do was hold him tightly.
Julian stroked her hair and kissed her ear. “Let me handle this, okay?”
Louisa didn’t respond.
If she agreed, she’d be accepting the fact that he was going to war with his mother for her sake.
She couldn’t do that.
Julian looked at her cold, unresponsive expression, and his heart ached painfully.
He didn’t need her to do anything for him. He just wanted her to choose him decisively, just once. Was that so hard?
But he couldn’t blame her for anything.
For a long time after that, they just held each other in silence, saying nothing more.
Until Louisa’s phone buzzed.
She pulled it out to check.
It was a message from Sadie: [How are things on your end? We’re all waiting for you at home.]
Louisa tried to reply, but her fingers were trembling so badly she kept typing the wrong words.

Chapter 503-
Julian took the phone from her and slipped it into her pocket. “Go see them.”
Louisa nodded and silently walked toward the door.
When she reached it, she turned back to look at Julian.
He was still standing by the counter, quietly watching her.
In the end, Louisa said nothing. She opened the door and left.
Julian watched the door close. All the warmth drained from his face in an instant, replaced by a bone–chilling coldness.
He pulled out his phone and called Teddy. “You and Noah–come upstairs.”
Louisa went down to the 16th floor, to Sadie’s place.
By then, Flora had already drunk quite a bit.
The food on the table was barely touched. Sadie hadn’t drunk much–it was mostly Flora, drinking and talking while Sadie listened.
The Young family’s business had originally belonged to Flora’s grandfather. Isaac hadn’t even been born a Young–he’d married into the family
and taken the name.
Flora’s grandfather had no sons, only Flora’s mother. So in his old age, he’d handed the company and all its assets over to Isaac.
When Flora was young and her mother was still alive, she’d been happy–the beloved little princess of the Young family, cherished by everyone.
But after Flora’s mother passed away when Flora was ten, Isaac remarried within six months.
Soon after, Isaac had a second daughter–Della.
Della immediately replaced Flora as the favored princess of the Young family.
Isaac gave the best of everything to his new wife and Della, acting as if Flora didn’t exist.
Not only did Flora lose her status in the Young family, but she also had to guard against her stepmother’s schemes.
Several times, if it hadn’t been for a few loyal old servants secretly protecting her, she would have been killed.

As for the Young Group–it had once been a renowned perfume empire in Silverlight City. Seventy percent of the city’s women used Young
Group fragrances.
Flora’s mother had been a celebrated perfumer herself.
But after Flora’s grandfather and mother died one after the other, the Young Group became Isaac’s personal property.
Not only that, but the perfume business steadily declined until Isaac ran it into the ground.

Chapter 503
The thirty percent stake Flotas grandfather had left her became less and less valuable over time.
After hearing all of this, Sadie asked, “So what are you going to do now? Are you going to fight Isaac? Or do you want to take back the business your grandfather left you? I’ve handled plenty of these kinds of cases. I’ll help you.”
Flora slowly shook her head. “I don’t know. don’t want Isaac to benefit from the shares my grandfather left me, but… the Young Group now is nothing like it was when my grandfather was alive. don’t know what the point would be in fighting to get it all back.”
Sadie didn’t know what to say.
She understood the law, but she didn’t really understand business.
Flora looked at Louisa. “Louisa, what do you think I should do?”
