Agnes' Awakening: From Zero to His Whole World novel Chapter 1

"Someone... anyone... help... please... help me..."

Steam filled the bathroom. A woman lay on the floor, weakly calling for help. Blood slowly streamed down between her legs.

The mansion was huge. There were countless servants. Yet not a single one heard her cries upstairs.

Agnes Sinclair used the last of her strength to crawl under the sink. It was only a few steps, but it felt like it took half her life.

A sharp pain tore through her abdomen, stabbing every nerve. Soon her face turned pale. Cold sweat covered her forehead. Her vision began to blur.

She finally reached her phone and dialed the number she knew best with trembling fingers.

Beep... beep... beep...

It rang for a long time before someone answered. A man's cold voice came through the line.

"What is it?"

"Ray... Raymond... I fell. My stomach hurts so much. Please come home..."

The other side went silent for a moment.

"I'm busy right now. I'll have Eden take you to the hospital."

"Raymond, I'm bleeding... a lot..."

Before Agnes could finish, a woman's voice came through the phone.

"Mr. Newton, are you done yet? Come on, Hillary is waiting for you to cut the cake!"

"I'm hanging up."

"Raymond! Hello? Raymond?"

Agnes stared at the dark screen in despair.

Just now, she clearly heard the name Hillary Young. So tonight... they're together?

It felt like a thousand arrows pierced her heart.

She had texted him that morning, asking him to come home early.

Agnes wanted to surprise Raymond. She wanted to tell him she was pregnant. He was going to be a father.

But she waited all night. He never came home. He didn't answer her calls. He didn't reply to her messages.

Turns out he was celebrating Hillary Young's birthday.

Hillary was Raymond's first love.

Two years ago, she suddenly returned from overseas. From that day on, Raymond's attitude toward Agnes changed completely.

At first, he stopped answering her calls. Then he ignored her messages. Eventually, he rarely came home at all.

Agnes had been married to Raymond for three years. For three years, she loved him carefully and quietly.

The Newtons were rich and powerful. The house was full of servants.

But when it came to Raymond's daily life, Agnes did everything herself. She never let anyone else handle it.

Raymond was picky with food and had a serious cleanliness obsession. Yet he never complained about the meals Agnes cooked.

His shirts, suits, ties, and watches were always neatly arranged in the closet.

Agnes knew about Hillary. But she chose to endure it. Deep down, she believed that once a man got tired of playing around, he would come home.

Love was never meant for three people. The one who loved harder was always the one who got hurt the most.

Raymond never divorced her, only because Agnes was obedient. She did whatever he asked, like a well-trained dog.

Of course, there was also pressure from the Newton elders. They refused to accept Hillary.

Every time Agnes saw Hillary's Instagram posts, she understood just how much Raymond spoiled her these past two years.

He took her to concerts. He went skiing with her. He watched the ocean with her. He brought her to all kinds of events.

Hillary never said who the man in the photos was. But whether it was his side profile or his back, Agnes recognized him instantly.

Her body trembled. Tears blurred her vision. The heart-ripping pain in her stomach made her realize—

The baby was in danger. She couldn't wait any longer.
