Agnes' Awakening: From Zero to His Whole World novel Chapter 113

Chapter 113 A Knot That Won’t Untie

Finishe

Agnes still hadn’t changed her mind about the divorce. As for Raymond, she couldn’t quite figure out how she felt anymore.

During those days in the hospital, he had moved her; that was true. But between them stood Hillary-a knot that could never be untangled.

Strangely, she hadn’t seen Hillary in a long time.

Because Sabrina was getting older, Agnes didn’t want to upset her.

So whenever there were gatherings at the family estate, she still went back with Raymond from time to time.

That day, the two of them returned to the family home for dinner. Partway through the meal, something urgent came up at the company, and Raymond had to leave early.

Agnes stayed behind and chatted with Sabrina for a while. Then Sabrina asked Megan to bring over two beautifully wrapped gift boxes.

Inside were expensive health tonics, made from rare ingredients sourced from around the world. They looked costly, and they probably were.

Sabrina held Agnes’s hand and gently suggested that it might be time for her and Raymond to have a child.

Agnes pressed her lips together and said nothing. She understood what Sabrina meant, but she didn’t know how to tell her the truth.

When Sabrina asked her to take the tonics home and share them with Raymond, Agnes didn’t dare refuse. She forced a smile and accepted them.

On the way back, she thought it over. She really didn’t want to return to that villa. Instead, she decided to drop the boxes off at the company’s front desk and have someone pass them to Raymond.

That way, she wouldn’t have to see him.

Agnes arrived at Newton Group and handed the boxes to the receptionist. Before leaving, she stopped by the restroom.

Inside, a janitor was cleaning the floor. Something about her looked familiar.

The moment the woman saw Agnes, her body stiffened. She panicked and quickly grabbed her mop. trying to leave.

“Ursa?!” Agnes called out, hurrying after her.

The woman froze for a second, then pulled her mask higher. “You’ve got the wrong person.” she said, trying to walk away.

But Agnes caught up, grabbed her arm, and pulled off her mask. It was Ursa.

Ursa’s eyes instantly turned red. She quickly put the mask back on and looked around in panic, afraid someone might recognize her,

“What are you doing, Agnes?!” Ursa snapped. “Seeing me like this-are you happy now?!”

Agnes burst out laughing. “Ursa, what are you doing cleaning floors here? Seriously?” she said, laughing harder. “Did your family kick you out?”

Ursa trembled with anger. “This is all your fault! You went crying to my brother, didn’t you? He cut off my cards and banned me from going home!”

She clenched her fists, her voice shaking. “I’m just putting up with this for now. But I still belong to this family! No matter what job I do, they’ll back me up. You just got lucky this time. You’ll pay for it. Just wait!”

Agnes frowned, confused. When had she ever complained to Raymond?

Ursa had always been arrogant. Back when Agnes lived at the estate, Ursa and her mother had never treated her well.

Whatever Raymond’s reason was for punishing Ursa, Agnes couldn’t help but feel satisfied.

“Oh, I wouldn’t dare act all high and mighty,” Agnes said with a laugh. “But wow, this is just too funny.”

“You-what are you laughing at?! Shut up!” Ursa snapped.

Agnes laughed even louder.

“Honestly, Ursa, that uniform suits you,” she teased. “You should wear it more often. I like the look.”

She laughed so hard her stomach hurt.

Not wanting to waste more time, Agnes turned back to the mirror, fixed her hair, and got ready to leave.

Before leaving, Agnes looked at Ursa, who was still full of anger, and said with a teasing smile, “Wow, Ursa, your best friend didn’t even speak up for you. What kind of friendship is that? Close when it’s easy, gone when it’s not? Funny how that works.”

Ursa snapped, “Agnes! You’ve gone too far! This is all your fault! You ruined my life, you humiliated my mom, and now Hillary can’t even come back from Montara! You’ve hurt so many people. What goes around comes around-you’ll pay for this!”

Agnes kept smiling, but her eyes changed slightly.

Hillary was stuck in Montara, unable to return?

She suddenly remembered what Raymond had said at the hospital, that Hillary would never come between thein again. Did that mean they had really fallen out?

But what did that have to do with her?
