Chapter 141 She’s Back

She forced a stiff smile for a moment before speaking, “I’m sorry, Agnes. I did try to find her, because in Grandridge, she was the only one who had a grudge against you.
“When something happened to you in Velmara, I figured she was behind it, so I went looking for her.
‘I wanted to ask her why she did it and where she had taken you.
‘But when I finally found her, she denied everything. She even yelled at me and had me thrown out.”
‘I’m sorry, Agnes. I’m so useless. I couldn’t help you at all. I was stupid, and I even made things worse for you. Boohoo…”
Agnes let out a small breath of relief. Maybe deep down, she still couldn’t bring herself to doubt the person who had stayed by her side for years.
She simply couldn’t accept that someone could be so heartless, taking another person’s kindness and eturning it with betrayal and harm.
she reached out to comfort her. “Don’t blame yourself, Rebecca. This is really connected to Hillary. This ime, I won’t let her get away with it!”
Rebecca asked, “Agnes, what are you planning to do? I can help you.”
Agnes replied, “I can deal with this on my own. I don’t want you getting involved, Rebecca. Right now, the nost important thing for you is to focus your pregnancy.”
Rebecca nodded with a smile, but inside she was panicking. Agnes probably knew something, yet she still hadn’t begun to suspect her.
What she needed to do now was completely cut ties with Hillary and deny everything no matter what.
After exchanging a few more polite words with Rebecca, Agnes left.
Once she was gone, Rebecca locked the office door, walked over to the window, and called Hillary.
The moment the call connected, her anxious voice burst through, “She’s back! She’s completely
unharmed!”
Hillary froze in place, phone clutched in her hand. Her mouth remained open, but terror left her unable o utter a single word.
Rebecca continued, “Raymond personally went to Velmara and brought her back. I couldn’t get anything out of her, but she doesn’t seem to suspect me yet.
‘You need to leave. She already knows you’re the one who set her up. Go now! She’s coming for you!”
Hillary’s mind went blank with fear. Raymond had personally gone to Velmara?
That meant he might already know everything. He might know she had returned to Grandridge and that she was the one who arranged for people to lure Agnes to Velmara.

That explained why something had felt wrong these past few days. She had tried contacting Ursa. Although Ursa always reped every time Hillary asked to meet her, Ursa claimed to be busy and refused all video and voice calls.
Could it be that Raymond already had Ursa under control too?
Hillary didn’t dare think further. She threw her phone aside and hurriedly packed her things. She had to leave immediately and return to Montara.
Raymond had warned her before that if she ever touched Agnes again, her end would be worse than Lucy’s.
After packing, she put on her sunglasses and rushed to the airport by taxi.
When she arrived, she wished the plane would take off right away. She had arrived a full 10 hours early.
When boarding finally began, she let out a long breath. As long as she could leave Grandridge, her father would protect her once she reached Montara.
Even if that meant returning to that suffocating life she used to live, at least she would survive.
She handed her ticket to the gate agent. The agent glanced at it, then subtly signaled to someone nearby.
Hillary’s heart dropped. Then she saw several men in black suits step out from the side.
At the front of the group was a man in a light gray suit.
As he approached, Hillary recognized him as Raymond’s assistant, Eden.
Eden said, “Ms. Young, what a coincidence. Since you’ve come back to Grandridge, why didn’t you let anyone know? Mr. Newton heard you were back, so he specifically sent me to pick you up.”
Hillary’s face turned pale as a sheet, her body trembling uncontrollably.
She said, “I… I came back to handle something. I’m in a hurry to return to Montara. Please help sne pass a message to Raymond.
I’ll visit him another time. There’s been a misunderstanding between us. He probably doesn’t want to see me right now either. Please help me pass the message, Eden.”
With that, she pulled her suitcase forward, trying to board, but Eden stepped in front of her and blocked
the way.
Eden said, “Mr. Newton wants to see you, Ms. Young. You said there’s a misunderstanding, right? Then this is the best chance to clear it up. You can explain everything to him in person.
Before Hillary could respond, Eden gave a signal, and the men in black suits forced her away from the gate and escorted her out of the airport.
Not far off, Raymond stood with Agnes, silently watching everything unfold.
Agnes felt a chill deep in her heart, as cold as the winter air around her.
