Chapter 179 The Hidden Blade
Monica lifted the gown and held it up in front of herself. “Mom, what do you think? It looks good, right?”
Bianca gave it a sideways glance. “It’s fine. Nothing special. It doesn’t look high–end at all. Too niche.”
She took the gown and inspected it more closely, clicking her tongue. “This cut… it’s pretty rough.”
“Mom, what are you talking about?” Monica frowned. “This is the best–quality gown I’ve ever had made!”
Then she turned to Agnes.
“Agnes, don’t mind her. My mom just likes to nitpick. Her standards are way too high.”
Agnes smiled calmly. “It’s okay. Let me take you to the fitting room. If there’s anything you don’t like, we can adjust it.”
She led the way. Behind her, Bianca and Monica started whispering.
“Why did you have to come to a place like this for a custom gown? It’s ugly and expensive. You really have nothing better to do.”
“Mom, keep your voice down! This is Tidewhisper Lily. People line up to get dresses here!”
“You’re too naive. Look around–there’s not even a single customer. And you believe all that hype?”
“Mom, don’t you ever go online?”
“What does that have to do with anything? If you want a custom gown, you go to an international luxury brand! And your dad is thinking about giving you a vice president role at the company.
“For an important occasion like that, you come to a small, no–name shop like this?
“Do you even understand? What you wear represents the company. You’re really not thinking this through.”
“Alright, alright, I get it,” Monica said, a little annoyed. “But I like this gown. I even designed it myself. Agnes helped me adjust it.”
Agnes forced a small smile. She could already tell Bianca was not an easy customer.
Monica went into the fitting room to try on the gown, while Bianca sat outside waiting.
Agnes brought her a cup of premium black coffee. Bianca didn’t even look up.
She clearly didn’t think much of her.
Agnes didn’t mind. She had dealt with difficult wealthy clients before.
Just agree with them, avoid their triggers, and keep things smooth.
“Arghhhh!!!”

Finished
A sudden screain came from inside the fitting room.
Bianca jumped up and rushed over, yanking the curtain open in pani
Monica stood there, clutching her neck, her face full of pain.
There was a small red cut on her neck, with a little blood seeping out.
“Monica! What happened?!” Bianca cried.
She rushed over and pressed her hand against the wound. Then she shouted at Agnes,
“What are you standing there for?! Call an ambulance!”
Agnes quickly took out her phone and made the call. Then she ran to the next room to grab disinfectant and ointment.
“Mom, when I was trying on the dress, my neck suddenly hurt,” Monica said, her voice shaking. “When I touched it, there was blood… I’m so scared…”
Bianca immediately started checking the gown. Then suddenly, she froze. She pulled out a sharp blade hidden inside the fabric.
“What is this?!”
She stood up and held the blade toward Agnes.
Agnes frowned and said, “We don’t have anything like that in our shop.”
“You’re still denying it?!” Bianca snapped. “I just found this blade inside the gown you made!”
Agnes didn’t respond right away. She had seen it too; Bianca really did pull it out of the dress.
“What kind of place is this?!” Bianca’s voice rose sharply. “A blade hidden inside a gown? Are you trying to hurt someone?!”
“I don’t know why there’s a blade in this gown,” Agnes said calmly. “I always check every dress carefully before a fitting. Not just blades–even a single needle wouldn’t be left inside.”
“What are you implying?” Bianca shot back. “We have the victim and the evidence, and you’re still trying to deny it?
“Let me tell you–I’m going to sue you. Not only will you compensate us, your shop will be shut down!”
