Chapter 235 Got Her
Rebecca said, “I did go see her, but her death has nothing to do with me.
“I wasn’t the one who hit her. She was the one who went crazy and ran into the car.”
Agnes suddenly laughed, like she’d just heard something hilarious.
“How do you know she went crazy and ran into a car?
“Those details about the accident were never released to the public.
“Unless… you were there!”
Rebecca’s face turned pale as she hurriedly backtracked, “I wasn’t there! It has nothing to do with me!,I-I heard it from her boyfriend!”
Agnes said, “Didn’t you just say you didn’t know her boyfriend? Where did he tell you that?”
Rebecca said, “A-at the hospital!”
Agnes said. “At the hospital? You really think that makes sense, Rebecca?
“That day at the hospital was when Polly was being rushed in for emergency treatment. The police report hadn’t even come out yet, and her boyfriend somehow already knew everything and told you?”
Rebecca fell silent, frozen in place.
Agnes continued, “I asked Harold. He said Polly told him she thought she saw someone familiar, but she wasn’t sure, and it scared her.
“Tell me, what kind of ‘familiar person’ would make her that afraid?”
Rebecca said, “Stop playing mind games, Agnes! Polly’s death has nothing to do with me!
“The one I’ve been targeting all along is you! You!”
Agnes said, “The police found that the car involved had been parked there for a long time, so it was clearly premeditated.
“They followed the trail and found a large amount of cash at the driver’s home.
“You got smarter this time. You didn’t transfer money directly but used cash instead.
“But every bill has a serial number. Withdrawing that much cash from a bank, and with consecutive bills, it’s easy to trace who withdrew it.
“You can’t escape this, Rebecca.”
Rebecca’s face flushed red. Veins stood out on her neck, and she’d bitten her lower lip until it bled.
She said nothing, just stared at Agnes with vicious eyes, like she wanted to tear her apart.
Agnes lifted a brow with disdain and let out a soft laugh. “What’s wrong, Rebecca? Nothing left to argue with?
“You went through all that trouble to scheme against me, and still lost. How pathetic.”
Suddenly, Agnes’s smile vanished, frost settling in her eyes as she leaned close and said slowly in Rebecca’s ear, “Rebecca, in this lifetime, you will never beat me.”
Rebecca trembled with rage, but couldn’t hide the fear in her eyes.
Seeing her like that, Agnes curled her lips in satisfaction.
