Agnes' Awakening: From Zero to His Whole World novel Chapter 278

Love After Leaving: No Regret

Chapter 278 Twisting Lies

“Today, Ms. Hale suddenly came to me and said she was going to take her dad to see Agnes and talk things out.

“She said she wanted to settle everything about the Hales and make Agnes give it all back to her.”

Rebecca choked on her words, wiping her tears as she kept glancing at Duncan.

“I tried to stop her. I told her to wait until you got back so the three of us could figure something out together.

“But she was furious. She wouldn’t wait a second and refused to listen. She insisted on going alone.”

Duncan’s brow tightened, his eyes turning bloodshot as his voice dropped cold.

“No. Monica was timid. She wouldn’t go to Agnes alone without telling me.

“Rebecca, are you hiding something from me?”

Rebecca cried even harder, shaking her head.

“No. How could I hide anything from you? You saved my life.

“I know exactly what kind of situation we’re in. We all have the same enemy right now.

“I’m not hiding anything. Ms. Hale really went to see Agnes on her own.”

Duncan stood there, frozen, something dark flickering in his eyes.

He couldn’t understand why Monica hadn’t told him and went alone.

Even so, seeing Rebecca like this, it seemed like she didn’t know anything either, though doub still lingered in his mind.

Duncan narrowed his eyes. “Rebecca, I remember you and Agnes used to be close.”

Rebecca hurried to explain.

“Yes, we were. But look at me now.

“Who made me lose my child, my lover, everything?

“Who sent me back to that hell where I was beaten and tortured day and night?”

Her whole body trembled as she broke down, unable to stop crying.

“I haven’t forgotten what she did to me.

* Finished

“I used to treat her like my best friend, but she’s selfish, cruel, a wolf in sheep’s clothing.

“She builds her happiness on other people’s suffering.”

Rebecca collapsed to the floor as she spoke.

She looked up at Duncan through tears.

“You can doubt anyone, but not me. I hate Agnes more than anyone.

“I want to ruin her life, tear her apart, rip her to pieces!

“I had no grudge against Ms. Hale. Why would I ever help someone like Agnes hurt her?

“Ms. Hale was the one who saved me from that mountain hell.
