"Then why are you holding her hand now, and standing shoulder to shoulder with her to go against me?"
Rebecca curled her lips, then suddenly spoke in a strangely casual tone, "Are you blaming me for not helping you on the rooftop that day?
"Oh, come on, you can't pin this all on me.
"You know what the situation was like back then. I didn't try to kill you; you were just clumsy!
"It was Agnes! It was her! She didn't grab your hand. That's why you fell!
"So, what does that have to do with me?
"If you want to hate someone... Hate her!"
Rebecca leaned down, bringing her face close to Monica's, smiling as she whispered, "Let me tell you a little secret.
"Your dear Duncan never loved you. Not long after you fell, he and I... Hahaha!
"Ms. Hale, he's never even touched you, has he? Oh my god, hahaha!"
Rebecca laughed uncontrollably, as if she had just discovered the funniest joke in the world.
"That's just pathetic, Ms. Hale. You dressed yourself up like some pure, untouchable angel in front of men, and what happened?
"It backfired! Hahaha! Oh God, this is so hilarious!"
But suddenly, her smile vanished, replaced by something twisted and vicious.
"Duncan's with me now, and we're doing just fine.
"And you? You should've just stayed dead! Why are you still breathing?
"What use are you now anyway? You're just useless trash—a burden! What's the point of you being alive if you bring nothing but disaster!"
As she spoke, Rebecca slowly pulled a syringe from her pocket and held it in front of Monica's eyes.
"Living like this must be miserable. There's no hope left for you in this life.
"You don't want to spend every day lying in bed, stuck in a wheelchair, and wearing diapers, do you?"
She flicked the liquid inside the syringe lightly and chuckled.
"Don't worry, Ms. Hale. I know how to repay my debts. You helped me before, so of course, I'll help you too.
"Let me send you to hell! Haha!"
With that, Rebecca suddenly drove the needle straight into Monica's chest.
She watched as Monica let out a muffled groan, her eyes shutting.
Rebecca tossed the syringe aside, clapping her hands lightly, her voice airy. "Safe travels to the afterlife, Ms. Hale!"
Just as she turned to leave, the hospital room door burst open. A group of men in black suits rushed in.
"Rebecca, I was starting to think you wouldn't show up."
A woman stepped forward from behind them—Agnes.
Behind her stood a tall man. It was Raymond.
Rebecca's face twisted, but she let out a strange, mocking laugh.
