Carmen whipped the wet bath towel around wildly. It looked accidental, but every swing just happened to smack Vivian and the other heiresses, too.
One by one, they clutched their heads and scattered like startled rats.
The entire spa room dissolved into absolute chaos.
Screams and curses rose from every direction. The scene had completely spun out of control.
No one knew how long it had gone on before the cruise staff and security finally rushed in and brought the farce to an end.
Vivian, Tiffany, and the rest of their little clique sat on the floor sobbing, hair hanging in wild tangles.
Every one of them had red welts across their faces and bodies from the towel-whipping.
Tiffany had it the worst. Her whole face was swollen beyond recognition, with black liquid and Holy Salt smeared through her hair and all over her skin.
She looked like the unluckiest disaster in a beggars' camp.
Agnes and Carmen were both panting from exhaustion, too.
They glanced at each other, fighting hard to hold down the corners of their mouths in case they accidentally burst out laughing.
The moment Agnes realized someone had tampered with her essential oil, she guessed it had to be Vivian and her crowd making trouble again.
She kept her face calm and decided it was time to let them taste the consequences of their own scheme.
So, she told Carmen the whole plan, then prepared the vials of "Holy Water" and Holy Salt.
The two of them worked in perfect sync, ready to give Tiffany a special, fully customized "exorcism" ritual.
Agnes secretly paid to switch out Tiffany's therapist and had the chili-oil-laced essential oil used on Tiffany's own face instead.
Tiffany got a very thorough lesson in what it meant to dig your own grave.
When Tiffany saw the security board the cruise ship, she sobbed and immediately started filing complaints.
The guards had not even reached her before her ghostly appearance scared them into backing away, batons raised in front of them.
"Miss, whatever you need to say, you can say it from right there."
Tiffany pointed at Agnes and Carmen, crying as she said,
"Them! It was them! They did this to me on purpose! Look at my face—it's ruined!
"Throw those two off the cruise ship right now! People who are that vicious don't deserve to be on this island trip!"
Then, Tiffany tearfully explained the whole story to the guards from beginning to end.
She insisted Agnes and Carmen had deliberately set her up and tried to hurt her.
The girls beside her quickly chimed in to back her up.
As for Vivian, she went right back to playing peacemaker and said, "Oh, maybe there's some kind of misunderstanding here. Ms. Sinclair and Ms. Fletcher aren't that kind of people."
As she spoke, her eyes flicked toward Tiffany, signaling her to keep complaining.
Tiffany shouted at the guards, "Can't you see my face? Can't you see this entire room is a wreck?
