She was waiting for Agnes to blow up in a minute.
That way, Raymond would get to see this woman throw a fit and make a scene. Ha.
But Agnes didn't say a word. She just covered her mouth and burst out laughing.
The sound made Clara's scalp crawl. What the hell was she laughing at? What did she mean? Did she not believe her?
Agnes said, "Ms. Blue, you're really something. I like you a lot.
"But let me give you a little warning. You'd better stay strong in a moment!"
Clara was completely confused. Stay strong? What did that even mean?
This woman had been speaking in that strange, mocking tone since the moment she arrived, not a single normal sentence.
She must have been burning with jealousy after hearing that Raymond gave her perfume, so she was just pretending to be calm.
And now she was putting on an act, saying meaningless things just to save face.
Clara lifted her chin, a smug smile forming.
"Thanks for the reminder, Ms. Sinclair. Nurses like us are much tougher than ordinary people."
Agnes gave her a meaningful smile, then turned and left the mansion.
Watching her go, Clara rolled her eyes and muttered under her breath,
"Serves you right, homewrecker. Every time you come here, I'll make sure you feel miserable. Let's see how long you can keep this up."
After that, she went upstairs to Raymond's room.
That bottle of perfume had cost her several months' salary.
She had to invest before catching a big target.
If she wanted to win the real prize, she had to spend something first.
She stopped at the door, adjusted her tight nurse uniform, and made sure her figure looked even more pronounced.
Then she knocked politely and smiled,
"Mr. Newton, today..."
But before she could even step inside, Raymond's brows were already tightly furrowed.
His handsome face twisted in discomfort as he covered his nose and snapped coldly.
"What is that smell?"
His furious shout echoed through the entire villa like it was shaking.
His face turned red as if he had just been forced to smell something rotten.
Before Clara could speak, Raymond roared again, "Eden!"
Eden rushed in immediately and slammed into Clara at the doorway, knocking her aside.
Breathing heavily, Eden asked anxiously, "Mr. Newton, I'm here. What happened?"
Raymond's face was full of anger as he grabbed a blanket and pressed it over his nose.
