Agnes' Awakening: From Zero to His Whole World novel Chapter 386

A trace of cunning flashed through Carmen's eyes as she said softly, "Nothing will go wrong this time. I promise."

After hanging up, she fell into thought.

What had happened at Frank's hospital back then had actually been orchestrated by her.

She knew the hospital layout and the camera positions inside out. She had deliberately cut the power to the floor where the corneas were stored.

Her goal was simple. She didn't want Raymond to regain his sight.

She had heard from Frank that although Raymond and Agnes had already divorced, Raymond had never given up pursuing her.

But Agnes had always ignored him.

Now that he was blind, he didn't want to drag Agnes down, so he chose to distance himself.

Carmen thought that the two of them could finally draw a clean line this time.

But she hadn't expected Agnes to devote almost all her time to finding suitable corneas for that man.

In the end, she had even said that if she couldn't find one, she would give her own corneas back to him.

Carmen couldn't sit still anymore. It felt ridiculous, but there was nothing she could do except pull back.

Maybe once Raymond regained his sight, Agnes would keep her distance from him, just like before.

After leaving the warehouse, Carmen headed to the worst, most rundown psychiatric hospital in Grandridge.

She was still a distance away when a sharp, nauseating stench hit her.

The person in charge saw her arrive and immediately hurried over, bowing respectfully.

"Ms. Fletcher, you're here. She's still in the same room. I'll bring her over right away."

Carmen nodded. She went into the room, changed into a white doctor's coat, and put on medical gloves and a mask.

Soon, several attendants dragged in a woman with disheveled hair and a body covered in filth.

They skillfully strapped her onto an operating table and left.

The woman looked completely drained, her eyes unfocused, her mind hazy.

Carmen stepped forward and injected her with a stimulant.

Within moments, the woman snapped alert, her eyes bulging wide.

She stared at Carmen and screamed, "Get away! I don't want to take medicine! No! I'm not sick! Get lost! Don't hit me! No!"

Carmen held a cup of water in one hand and a handful of colorful pills in the other.

"You're already this far gone, babbling nonsense. How can you not take your meds? Come on, be good. Open your mouth..."

Without caring about the woman's struggle, she abruptly grabbed her jaw and forcefully shoved all the pills into her mouth, then poured the water in.
