Chapter 44 Double–Sided

Seeing that Agnes didn’t react, Hillary assumed that she felt guilty and was silently admitting it.
“Ms. Aurora, why did you have to plagiarize someone else’s design? This is disrespectful to your seniors and everyone here today!”
Agnes frowned slightly. “What nonsense are you talking about, Hil-”
She then realized she wasn’t attending as Agnes today–she was here under the identity of Aurora.
She adjusted her tone and continued, “I don’t know where you’re getting these accusations. Where is this so–called plagiarism? Where is this disrespect?”
Hillary said sharply, “Still denying it?! We have professionals here ‘who noticed the problem with your work!
“Your design plagiarized the work of a senior designer–Ms. Daisy’s piece, Luminous Lily!”
She then turned to the audience and livestream viewers.
“Everyone can search online for Ms. Daisy’s work and compare it.
“You’ll find that the lilies look identical from every angle. This is blatant plagiarism! A blatant challenge to the industry!
“I suggest the entire fashion industry in Grandridge blacklist Ms. Aurora. Someone like her doesn’t deserve to stand alongside us!”
Agnes scoffed to herself. What a fool. Daisy was her mother!
She stood up calmly and walked onto the stage, picking up a microphone to confront Hillary directly.
“You claim I plagiarized, and your evidence is that my design looks similar to Ms. Daisy’s? Did you actually make a careful comparison, Ms. Young?”
Hillary froze for a second. She hadn’t actually compared them carefully, but Lucy had just told her there was a 99% certainty that Aurora had plagiarized.
With a confident expression, she replied firmly, “That’s right. Several judges here have carefully examined it as well.
“Your design is identical to Ms. Daisy’s Luminous Lily. And you’re still trying to deny it!”
Agnes glanced at the judges below the stage. Lucy and four other judges nodded. Only one judge remained silent.
[Ahhh? No way! Is Ms. Aurora about to go down like this?!]
[Among six judges, five of them have confirmed she plagiarized. She’s finished! Caught red–handed! Get out of the fashion world, trash!]

[Wow! You really can’t judge a book by its cover. I used to be such a fan of her classical–style and ancient- style clothing!]
[Some people will do anything for the champion–even throw away their dignity. Now that she’s exposed, let’s see how she recovers.]
[Damn it! I’m putting Tidewhisper Lily on my blacklist right now. Boycott them!]
[I’ve followed Tidewhisper Lily’s clothing for a while. They were all classic and unique designs. Were they all plagiarized, too? Can I return my purchases?]
At that moment, Lucy also walked onto the stage and picked up a microphone.
“Ms. Aurora, I’ve long heard of your reputation. I know you’ve become very popular in the fashion world recently.
“After carefully examining your competition piece just now, it is indeed identical to Ms. Daisy’s work. Ms. Daisy is a highly respected figure in our field—especially in embroidery.
“Among the judges here, one of them is even her friend. So you can’t deny it.
“I advise you to rely on your own efforts in the future. If you keep doing things like this, you’ll be exposed sooner or later.”
Agnes thoughtfully glanced toward someone in the audience. That person had been her mother’s close friend during her lifetime. Agnes knew her.
Watching Hillary and Lucy standing on stage with smug expressions, clearly waiting to enjoy the spectacle, Agnes simply smiled calmly.
“It seems the two of you share remarkably consistent opinions. I almost suspect you knew each other beforehand and deliberately planned to drag me down together.
“Heh. Too bad your little scheme is about to fail.”
Hillary and Lucy exchanged glances, clearly unconvinced by Agnes’s words.
Agnes walked to her design and gently touched the embroidery.
“Please take a closer look at my work. My lilies indeed resemble Ms. Daisy’s to some extent.
“But if you look carefully, you’ll see that my stitching technique is different from hers.
“And anyone can embroider lilies. In terms of quantity, pattern, and shape, mine are different from Ms. Daisy’s.
“Most importantly, please look at this.”
Agnes slowly removed the embroidered classical–style dress from the model and gently turned it over.
There was another embroidery on the inside!
