Chapter 49 Many Orders

Raymond’s expression hardened. The two of them stood there in tense silence for a moment before he said, “It’s cold out there. Go inside. I want to talk about the divorce.”
Agnes looked at him in disbelief, unsure whether he was serious. Half–suspecting it might be a trick, she let
him in.
Once inside, Raymond sat on the couch, scanning the room. It reflected her style.
The decor and layout were similar to their villa, just scaled down to fit the smaller space.
Agnes went to the kitchen to make some tea, treating him like a guest.
“What would it take for you not to want a divorce?” Raymond asked lightly as he took a sip of tea.
He’d been thinking carefully over the past few days. Agnes had always loved him so much. No matter how cold he’d been, she never left.
Now that he kept backing down, she probably thought it was working, using it repeatedly to control him.
And she must have had some request she wanted him to fulfill.
Agnes replied, “I don’t want anything. I just want a divorce. Don’t you think our marriage is a joke?”
Raymond said, “Even if I agreed, it wouldn’t be easy to explain to Grandma.”
She lowered her eyes. “She’ll find out sooner or later. Just tell her gradually. Over time, she’ll accept it.”
“Because of Neal?”
“We have nothing to do with each other. Stop blaming me.”
Suddenly, Raymond’s expression turned terrifyingly cold.
“I advise you to stop. I can give you anything you want–just stay as my wife. Even if we divoree, nothing will ever happen between you and Neal.”
Agnes, however, remained indifferent.

“Thanks for the reminder, Mr. Newton. I’ll handle my own affairs. It’s late, and I want to rest. You can just send me the signed divorce papers.”
“Agnes!”
Raymond was about to lose his temper when his phone rang.
Agnes couldn’t hear clearly, but she caught a soft, feminine voice. She didn’t even need to guess. It had to be Hillary.
As expected, after he ended the call, Raymond stood up to leave.

Before leaving, he said, “If you need some quiet, you can stay here for a while. I’ll come pick you up later.”
Without giving Agnes a chance to respond, he left.
Agnes felt speechless and wanted to chase him to clarify things, but Rebecca called at that moment.
“Agnes, something is wrong. Our online store has a problem. Some people suddenly placed a ton of orders today, all for our custom pieces. It feels off, so I called you first.”
Agnes frowned and immediately opened her laptop. Sure enough, thousands of custom orders had come in at once.
Her store, Tidewhisper Lily, didn’t normally have ready–made stock. Everything was custom, handcrafted, time–consuming, and expensive.
Now that many orders had suddenly come in all at once, it was clearly someone trying to cause trouble.
If they didn’t ship on time, they’d get complaints and bad reviews.
Even if they did, some customers might return items unsatisfied, and they’d still get bad reviews.
Rebecca anxiously asked, “Agnes, what should we do?
“Should we just cancel the orders? There are too many. It feels like these people are deliberately targeting us.”
Agnes said, “I know. Even if we cancel, they’ll still spin iyagainst us, saying our store is bullying customers and refusing orders on purpose.”
Rebecca asked, “Could it be haters brought in by the fashion competition?”
Agnes replied, “Maybe. I just checked. The people placing orders are from different places, but the customization times are almost the same. Someone must have hired a bot army or something to place malicious orders.”
Rebecca exclaimed, “That’s outrageous! Agnes, if we don’t cancel, we won’t be able to handle all of them!”
Agnes said calmly, “Send out the clothes we have in stock to some of them first. The rest can wait.”
“What? Agnes, our studio already barely has the few embroiderers you painstakingly found, plus a few designers. With you and me working overnight, it’s still not nearly enough.”
“It’s fine. These people aren’t that easy to fool. They’ll make more moves. Just wait. Don’t worry.”
