Agnes' Awakening: From Zero to His Whole World novel Chapter 5

Raymond and Hillary had each been slapped across the face. One on each side. Perfectly matched, like a couple's set.

"If you don't get out right now, I'm grabbing a knife!" Agnes shouted. "You two better run before I kill you both!"

She turned toward the kitchen like she was about to grab a knife. Hillary rolled her eyes back and fainted on the spot.

She was scared half to death. Agnes had really gone crazy. She had even slapped Raymond.

If she could hit him, maybe she really would grab a knife next. Better play dead and get out of here.

"Hillary? Hillary!"

Raymond picked her up in his arms and carried her toward the door.

Before leaving, he turned and glared at Agnes.

"Hillary has a heart condition. If anything happens to her, I won't forgive you!"

Agnes didn't even bother replying. She raised both middle fingers at them.

Then she went upstairs to the bedroom and slammed the door.

The servants looked at each other, trembling. After cleaning up quickly, they all rushed back to their rooms.

The house had turned upside down tonight. Agnes had changed. She had snapped.

The bedroom was dimly lit. Agnes leaned against the bed. On the nightstand sat a tiny pair of baby shoes.

The tough, fearless act she had put on earlier disappeared. Tears slid down her face.

How could she not feel sad?

No matter what happened, Raymond had never once stood up for her.

Not with Linda. Not with Hillary. Not even when it came to their baby. He had never chosen her.

She wiped her tears. Only then did she notice the dried herbs still clutched in her hand.

When she asked Linda about the box earlier, she had quietly grabbed a few pieces.

She planned to send them for testing.

The doctor had said her fall wasn't serious enough to cause a miscarriage. It definitely shouldn't have caused heavy bleeding. She remembered that clearly.

The more she thought about it, the stranger it seemed. Everything else had been normal. The only thing she hadn't controlled for herself was her meals.

And Linda had been the one arranging all of them. Besides Linda, Agnes couldn't think of anyone more suspicious.

She wouldn't keep drifting through life like this anymore. From now on, she would start planning a new life for herself.

At a luxury private hospital...

Hillary sat weakly in a hospital bed. One hand covered her chest while the other rested lightly against her lips.

She cried softly, her tearful face looking fragile and pitiful.

"Raymond, please don't blame Agnes," she said through tears. "She just lost her baby. She must be in a lot of pain.

"I was too rash today. I should've waited a few days before visiting her."

"This has nothing to do with you," Raymond said. "Get some rest. For now, don't go near her again."

"I'm fine, Raymond. As long as I can be with you, this little bit of pain means nothing."

Raymond's face darkened. After hesitating for a moment, he sighed.

"Hillary, I've told you many times. There's no future between us."

Agnes! Why won't you just disappear? Raymond has ignored you for years. Why are you still hanging on?

Serves you right that you lost your baby! Why didn't you die along with that little brat?

The tip of her nose was red, and tears still clung to her long eyelashes. Is she crying?
