Agnes' Awakening: From Zero to His Whole World novel Chapter 7

Hillary held back the anger burning in her chest. She had no idea why Agnes suddenly came with Raymond today.

In the past, Agnes would hide far away in situations like this, like a coward.

But now she came with him and even called her name in that fake sweet voice. She kept acting innocent. Was she trying to make fun of her?

Hillary took a deep breath and fixed her expression. Then she showed a sweet smile.

"It's okay, Agnes. This was partly my fault. I wouldn't even dare hope you'd forgive me."

"Hillary, actually, this isn't anyone's fault. Maybe the baby just wasn't meant to be with us.

"Raymond is right. We can have another child in the future. I've thought it through. And oh, I picked these flowers just for you. I hope you recover soon."

She placed the bouquet on the bedside table.

"Thank you," Hillary said gently.

"Oh, right! Hillary, Raymond bought the cheese bagel you like. Oh no, we talked so long it's probably cold."

She turned to Raymond. "Raymond, can you ask the hospital staff if they can heat it up? Hillary's still weak, and cold food isn't good for her."

Seeing the two women chatting so peacefully, Raymond nodded and stepped out.

Agnes kindly adjusted Hillary's pillow and pulled up the blanket for her.

At the same time, she casually waved the huge ruby ring on her finger right in front of Hillary.

At first, Hillary looked at her with disgust. She wished she could strangle this woman. Why hadn't she left the Newtons yet?

But when she noticed the enormous ruby ring on Agnes's finger, her eyes widened.

A bad feeling rose in her heart. She forced another smile.

"Agnes, that ring is beautiful. Did Raymond buy it for you?"

"Yes," Agnes said happily. "Pretty, right? Raymond spent a huge amount of money on it. It's one of a kind."

She laughed lightly. "To be honest, I already asked Raymond for a divorce. But he refused. He even got on his knees and begged me not to leave.

"Then he bought this ruby ring to make me happy. That's why I finally forgave him."

She sighed playfully. "Men can be so good at sweet-talking. And I fall for it every time."

As she spoke, she held her hand close to Hillary's face, showing off the ring again and again.

Hillary felt a sharp sting of jealousy in her chest. But she forced a smile.

"Agnes, Raymond treats you so well. I'm really happy to see you two getting along again. I was worried you might fight because of me."

"Oh, please. Married couples argue and then make up. It's normal."

Suddenly Agnes raised eight fingers and smiled mysteriously.

"Agnes... what does that mean?"

"Eight times," Agnes whispered. "After I slapped Raymond yesterday, he said it made him want to win me over again.

"Oh my... I'm almost too shy to say this. He kept me up all night. Didn't stop until morning. I finally begged him to let me sleep.

"Men are funny. Sometimes they need a little push."

Her face turned red with embarrassment. Then she smiled sweetly.

"I believe our baby will come back to us soon. Don't you think so, Hillary?"

"Y-yes... of course."

Hillary squeezed out a smile that looked worse than crying.

Her fists tightened so hard that her nails dug into her palms, but she didn't even feel the pain.

She wanted to jump out of bed and tear Agnes's mouth apart.

No wonder Agnes came to the hospital today. She came here to show off.

At that moment, Raymond returned with the reheated cheese bagel.

"What are you two talking about? You look happy."

Are you serious? You bitch. Do I look okay to you?

Finally. This bitch is leaving. Hillary secretly let out a breath. She felt like she was about to go crazy.

So this is how it feels to beat someone at their own game. It feels AMAZING!
