Chapter 81 A Slap and a Fall

Jillian suddenly began slapping herself repeatedly. She didn’t stop until her face swelled up the corner of her mouth split open, blood showing.
At her age, she had never suffered this kind of humiliation, especially not in front of someor younger.
Tears filled her eyes. Her voice shook as she spoke to Agnes.
“I was wrong last time. I lost my temper and hit you. I embarrassed you in public.
“I felt terrible after I went home. Agnes, can you forgive me?”
Agnes stood there, stunned. Has she lost her mind?
“What are you trying to do now?” Agnes said, frowning. “You’re not trying to frame me, right?
She calmly pulled out her phone and showed it to Jillian. “I recorded everything. Don’t even think about setting me up.”
Jillian shook her head quickly. “I’m sorry. I really mean it. I’m apologizing for myself and Ursa We were too reckless.
“We’ve lived together for so many years. Please… forgive us.”
Agnes had no idea what Jillian was up to. But one thing was clear, she didn’t want to stay here for even one more second.
Who knew what Jillian might do next? She was acting completely unhinged.
“If there’s nothing else, I’m leaving,” Agnes said.
Jillian looked at her, almost desperate. “So, you forgive me, right?”
Agnes picked up her bag and turned away. “Whatever. Just stay away from me. The farthe better.”

She walked out without looking back. The moment Agnes was gone, Jillian’s expression twisted. She grabbed everything on the table and threw it to the floor.
“AGNES!!! I want you dead!!! And Raymond too! You both deserve to die!!!”
At the same time, in a shopping mall. Ursa was out shopping with her usual group of friends, just like always.

She picked out piles of clothes and designer bags. In a generous mood, she even gave a few items to the girls who had been flattering her.
“Wow, thank you, Ursa! You’re so generous!”
“Seriously, you’re beautiful and generous! I’m so jealous. Born into a rich family and successfi too-you’ll never have to worry about money!”
Ursa listened to their praise. She was used to it, but it still fed her ego every time.
When it was time to pay, her friends carried everything to the counter. Ursa casually took out her black card and handed it to the cashier.
The cashier accepted it politely and tried to process the payment. Once. Twice. Several times. Each time, declined.
The cashier looked up, a bit nervous. “I’m sorry, Ms. Newton. This card has been frozen. Woul you like to try another card?”
Ursa froze. “What? Frozen? That’s impossible! Try again.”
“I’m sorry, Ms. Newton. I’ve already tried several times. It still won’t go through.”
Ursa frowned, confused. This had never happened before. This was her top-tier black card.
Unwilling to believe it, she pulled out other cards from her bag. One after another. Declined. All of them.
Her face turned pale. Just moments ago, her friends had been excited about their new gifts. Now, seeing the cards fail, their smiles faded too.
The shop assistant gave an awkward smile. “Ms. Newton, maybe you should call and check?”
Ursa’s face darkened. She pulled out her phone and called the finance office.
“Ms. Newton,” the accountant said politely, “Mr. Newton gave instructions today. All your cards have been suspended.”
Ursa froze. “What?! All of them? What does that even mean?!”
“It means,” the accountant continued, “if you want to keep spending, you’ll need to earn your money. You’re welcome to work at the company. Mr. Newton has already arranged a position for you.”
Ursa’s hand tightened around the phone. Her anger surged. She hung up without another word.
Right away, she tried calling Raymond. Once. Twice. Again. No answer.
