Drevena pov
Isla dropped instantly to the ground, gasping as she hit it. Her hands flew to her throat, rubbing at it desperately while she coughed, eyes already burning with rage. Her fangs bared fully now as a low, shaking growl tore from her chest.
And then, they moved again.
Both of them.
George and Isla charged towards me with no hesitation this time.
The air snapped tight as they lunged again from opposite sides, trying to crush me between them in one clean strike.
I exhaled softly and chuckled, shifting just slightly to the side just as George’s claws tore through empty space where I had been standing a fraction of a second ago.
At the same time, I tilted my head back, letting Isla’s strike pass so close it cut the air above my throat. My feet barely moved, my hands stayed loose.
Calm.
Almost bored.
“Mm…” I hummed softly, glancing between them as they immediately adjusted, turning sharply to face me again. “That’s better.”
A small smile curved my lips.
“But still sloppy.”
George growled and came in again, faster this time. Isla followed instantly, refusing to give me space to move, their attacks syncing now in desperation.
Good.
But I simply stepped back, sliding between their timing like I already knew every move they would make with all their strikes missing.
George tried to cut off my movement from the side but I moved with Isla instead, catching her wrist mid-swing and using her momentum to pull her past me, forcing George’s next strike to nearly hit her instead.
His eyes widened.
“Isla-” he snapped.
“Careful,” I murmured lightly, already letting go and stepping away as Isla stumbled forward.
My smile widened.
“You’re getting predictable.”
Isla turned back immediately in fury as she tried again, claws sharper, faster, more reckless.
I caught her arm again, this time tighter and in one fluid motion, I twisted, dragging her with me as George’s attack sliced through where she had been standing.
Not once did I break rhythm.
Not once did I lose control of the space.
I stopped only when I had her a few steps away from him again, George froze, breathing heavier now, watching us.
I glanced at Isla, still gripping her wrist then smiled slightly softer.
“You,” I said calmly, “are stronger than you think.”
Her eyes flickered in surprise and confusion but I continued anyway.

“If you stop relying on rage, you will be dangerous.”
That alone made George’s expression tighten and I tilted my head.
“You too,” I added, eyes shifting to him. “Same mistake.”
For a split second-Silence.
Then both of them moved at once again at the same time but this time, I didn’t dodge immediately.
I laughed low and excited and then moved.
Isla came first-faster, sharper now, claws aimed straight for my chest.
I stepped inside her strike, brushing past her arm instead of avoiding it completely, just enough to disrupt her
balance.
“Better,” I murmured as I passed her.
George followed instantly, trying to catch me before I regained my balance.
I turned slightly, letting his strike pass behind me, then grabbed Isla again, using her as a shield, and forcing George to hesitate just for a fraction.
That fraction was enough.
His attack stopped almost immediately and he screamed, catching Isla as she fell into him.
“Too slow,” I said lightly, almost amused.
Isla struggled harder now, rage boiling over as she turned sharply toward me, her fists flying without restraint.
But I didn’t move from my spot.
Not even a step back.
I simply tilted my head-once, then again, each punch slicing through empty air as I dodged with effortless precision. A soft hum slipped past my lips, almost thoughtful, almost amused, as my eyes stayed locked on
hers.
They were red.
Glossy with unshed tears that now spilled freely down her cheeks. Her lips trembled, her breathing uneven, breaking apart with every failed strike.
And still, I smiled.
“You must really love your sister,” I murmured, voice low, almost gentle “I can see it in your eyes… the pain, the heartache.”
I shifted slightly, just enough to avoid another wild swing, my movements smooth as a quiet laugh followed.
“If I had known you loved her this much…” I continued, my smile widening, something darker creeping into it, “I would have made her death even more exciting.”
Her next punch came faster now but I leaned back just in time.
“Tear out her arms first, then her legs…” I added softly, almost thoughtfully, “and then her head after.”
Another strike.
Another effortless dodge.
“But-“I tilted my head again, keeping the same perfect distance between us, watching her unravel piece by piece. “How does it feel?”
My eyes gleamed.
“To be helpless.”
I leaned in suddenly, enough for my words to land sharper as she suddenly stopped, her breath hitching with barely any space between us.
“To lose someone who wanted you to protect her…” a breath of laughter escaped me “and you couldn’t do

anything.”
I paused for a moment as my voice dropped quieter, almost a whisper.
“How pathetic.”
I could feel Lilith watching, holding her breath, silent, and tense.
Even George had frozen in place, his body rigid, his eyes trembling as he stared.
It was the kind of look one gives when faced with something worse than evil, something you never believed could truly exist until it stood right in front of you.
Everyone else was frozen, disbelief written across their faces and then Isla snapped.
“You killed her!” she screamed, voice breaking. “DIE! DIE!”
I paused then chuckled louder.
“You have killed a lot of people too, haven’t you?,” I said calmly, not moving. She didn’t attack and I didn’t dodge as we stared at each other.
“And you and your twin… must’ve recently killed a child.”
That made the air shift, I continued anyway.
“A young boy,” I said slowly. “In front of his mother. Didn’t you?”
Isla froze, her rage turning into shock. Even Lilith went still.
I could see it. I didn’t only see fragments of the future as a moon goddess wolf, I sometimes saw fragments of the past too.
Not always but sometimes and this time, I saw it.
I saw the attack the twins carried out against that family. They had brutally assassinated the father, his blood still fresh as it stained the floor, and held a seven-year-old boy with a dagger pressed to his throat.
The mother had been screaming, begging, her voice breaking as she pleaded for them to let her son go, to take her instead.
Do you know what they did?
Isla’s eyes were wide, and for a brief moment, my own flashed with a faint golden light as I stared at her.
They laughed.
They killed the boy right in front of her.
And then, they convinced the mother to kill herself, to escape the pain.
They found it entertaining.
“The same rage that mother felt for her son…” I murmured softly, watching her closely, “isn’t that the same rage you’re feeling right now?”
Isla’s body trembled.
Then, she stopped moving completely.
Her strength drained like something had been cut from inside her and she dropped to her knees, looking down in disbelief.
“The same pain…” I continued, voice almost gentle now as I took a step closer and stopped, staring down at her, “the same tears…”
I tilted my head.
“Isn’t that what you’re feeling?”
Isla’s eyes closed, tears spilling down her face as her expression broke into something dazed, like she had just realized everything at once.
That cruelty, everything that had just happened had been her and her sister’s karma.

I smiled.
Through mindlink, I spoke calmly.
“You were right, Lilith.”
Silence.
“There is karma for everything.” My smile widened slightly. “And I am theirs, just as someone would be mine.”
Lilith’s eyes widened as she stood in the throne room, unable to move, unable to speak.
I crouched in front of Isla, head tilted, studying her.
“Do you want to be with your sister?” Her eyes trembled, she didn’t answer but she didn’t resist either.
That was enough.
A low chuckle slipped from my lips.
I reached out and grabbed her hair, fingers tightening as my gaze sharpened, a tear falling down her cheek.” Then let me grant your wish-”
However, before I could do anything…
“Theila!”
The air snapped as a scream tore through everything, freezing me in place. My head jerked sharply to the side and instantly-
Lilith’s voice exploded inside my mind.
“Theila!!”
I froze for the first time. My eyes widened slightly.
