Alpha Twins And Their Hybrid Mate novel Chapter 39

I was woken up for breakfast the next morning by the omega of the house and she was a very sweet young lady who obviously served the Alpha family.

I wondered how she got suckered into a job like this. I guess Dean wasn’t so bad but Sara and Sierra. That had to be a nightmare.

I got dressed and I headed down to the dining room, with the assistance of the omega, since this house was so damn big and Dean and Sara were already waiting for me.

Sara looked over and practically growled when she saw me, but I sat at the seat on Dean’s left where he directed me to sit.

We had to stay there and wait for Luna Sierra. Apparently she was always the last to arrive and she loved making people wait.

“So, what college do you think you’ll go to? I mean, it’ll have to be a human college otherwise they’ll eat you alive. Literally.” Sara said, smirking at me. And I just stared at her, trying not to react to what she was saying.

“Isn’t that right dad? Werewolves are meat eaters and they love fresh meat.” Sara said, laughing.

“Sara. That’s enough. No more of those stupid fucking jokes.” Dean yelled, causing Sara to jump. Which told me that she wasn’t used to getting yelled at.

It was probably the first time anyone had ever yelled at her and she definitely didn’t take it too well. I could see the shocked look on her face and even a single tear that dropped from her eye as she stared at Dean.

Luna Sierra finally joined us and breakfast was served. Luna Sierra could tell that something was going on between Dean and Sara and she looked at Sara who still looked like she wanted to burst out crying.

“Alright. We all know the significance of Ella’s existence here in the pack. Don’t we?” Sierra asked.

“Yeah.” Sara said.

“Alright. Well, you need to calm down and go and train.” Sierra said.

“What?” Sara asked, confused. And Sierra looked at me with a smirk before she turned to Dean.

“Dean. Isn’t it true that an Alpha has to have a wolf? If Ella succeeds in getting a wolf and she is able to defeat Sara then I’ll be fine with that. Ella deserves to be Alpha.” Sierra said. And suddenly Sara didn’t look like she was going to cry anymore. She looked overly happy at the suggestion that her mother just made. That we would have to fight it out.

I didn’t know the meaning of that? Would we fight until we couldn’t go on anymore or would it be a fight to the death? I’m not fighting anyone like that.

I started to feel a little breathless while they were discussing this scenario that included me, but without involving me in the conversation and the all too familiar feeling of being unwelcome started creeping back in. This could just simply be a way for them to get me to run away.

I couldn’t do this again. I have felt like this in every house that I have lived in. Whether it was with Jack or with one of Marilyn’s boyfriends before that.

I needed to get to work at the cafe and start earning money again so I could leave.

I didn’t care about being Alpha. I never wanted to be Alpha of a wolf pack. Until recently, I didn’t know werewolves existed. So they could keep their damn pack to themselves. I didn’t care.

All I knew was that I wasn’t going back to Alaska. Not for anything in the damn world.

When breakfast was over I grabbed my coat and I left the house without saying anything to anyone and I headed down town towards the main part of town.

I was looking in windows of some shops, caught up in my own head when suddenly I felt someone standing behind me.

“Hello Ella.” She said. So I turned around.

“Celie.” I said. And I ran up and hugged her, causing her to hug me just as tightly.

“I’ve missed you sweet girl.” She said.

“I’m sorry. I am so sorry.” I said.

“For what?” She asked.

“Yeah. The curse. The one that I am supposed to lift right. The one where I’m the key.” I said.

“You know all about it?” She asked.

“Yeah. But it’s bullshit. I don’t even have a wolf. I have a voice in my head.” I snapped. I understood where they were coming from. This was all they knew. They’ve known about this curse for a century. I’ve known about it for days. That’s all. And these wolves needed to bond with their mates and prolong their lives. But that couldn’t happen if they couldn’t find their mate. And that was the whole purpose of the curse.

“Ella. They can find their mate now. Once you break the curse. You can help all of these wolves.” Celie said. And I looked at all the cells with the wolves in some sort of hysteria. It wasn’t pretty. Some had shifted into wolves, some were partially shifted and some were still human.

I still didn’t understand how I could help them. Not as a human. And there was no guarantee that I was going to get my wolf.

“The Moon Goddess chose you for a reason. You are special to her. And you are special to us.” Celie said.

“Has all of this just been one big plan to get me to where we are now? You being friends with me? Being my shrink?” I asked.

“No. None of that was fake. Don’t you dare think that.” She said, very seriously and I nodded my head.

But it was a little hard to believe anyone right now when they were all talking about this curse and me being the only one who could lift it.

Celie even told me that if I didn’t want to live with Dean and his family then she could take me with her and involve me in the research. So I could understand werewolves on a deeper level.

It was definitely a tempting offer. There was a lot that I didn’t know about werewolves and I looked back at the frenzied wolves.

I couldn’t help but think of the twins. And wonder if this is what happens to them.

I had been so cruel to them. I could understand if they needed me to help stop the curse that was doing this to them.

But I never saw them so crazy before. Not like this.
