Chapter 120: The k********g Plot
Chapter 120: The k********g Plot
(Amelia’s POV)
Claim
“You are an incompetent loser, Ronan,” I repeated, letting the words roll off my tongue. “Just a pathetic little worm waiting to eat the leftovers.”
Ronan stood frozen in the hospital hallway. His face turned a deep shade of crimson, matching his family name. He looked like he wanted to scream, but he was holding it back. It was pathetic.
I smiled, a provocative curve of my lips.
“Did I stutter?” I asked, tilting my head. “You are useless. I don’t care if I offend you. You don’t matter.”
Ronan’s chest heaved. He took a sudden, aggressive step toward me. He leaned down, his voice dropping to a menacing growl.
“You think you are so smart,” he hissed. “You better watch your back at the engagement ceremony tomorrow. If you aren’t careful, your end will be a hundred times more miserable
than Theodore’s.”
*He dares threaten us?* Ava growled low in my mind. *Let me out. I will rip his throat out right here.*
*Down, girl,* I thought. *Let’s play with him first.*
I didn’t flinch. Instead, I calmly pulled my phone out of my pocket. I held the screen up, right
in front of his face.
“Did you catch that?” I asked casually. “I think the microphone picked it up perfectly.”
Ronan’s eyes widened. The color drained from his face instantly. He stumbled back a step, staring at the black screen of my phone.
“You… you recorded me?” he stammered.
I stared at him for a second, then burst out laughing. I slipped the phone back into my pocket.
“Relax,” I scoffed. “I was bluffing.”
Ronan’s fear morphed into pure rage. His hands balled into fists.

“You played me!”
Claim
“I don’t need a recording to deal with trash like you,” I said, my voice dripping with disdain. “Theodore already knows exactly what you are. He saw through your little act years ago. Do you really think he would ever trust you again?”
I didn’t wait for an answer. I spun on my heel, my hair whipping through the air.
“See you tomorrow, Ronan,” I called out over my
shoulder.
I left him standing there, grinding his teeth, swearing vengeance to the empty hallway.
I pushed open the door to Theodore’s hospital room. I practically skipped to his bedside.
“You will never guess who I just saw,” I said, beaming like a child who just got a piece of candy.
Theodore looked up from the papers in his lap. He saw the mischievous glint in my eyes.
“Why do you look so happy?” he asked.
I sat down on the edge of the bed.
“I ran into Ronan,” I said excitedly. “I told him he was incompetent. You should have seen his face, Theo! He turned purple.”
I leaned in closer, making my voice dramatic.
“He was so mad,” I continued. “He threatened me. He said he was going to make me pay at the ceremony tomorrow.”
I widened my eyes, making them big and round. I grabbed Theodore’s arm and batted my
eyelashes.
“I am terrified,” I said, putting a tremble in my voice. “He is so scary. Will you protect me, big strong Alpha?”
Theodore looked at me. He knew exactly what I was doing. I was the Shadow King. I could snap Ronan like a twig. But his eyes softened anyway.
“Always,” he said, his voice deep and serious. “No one touches you.”
I dropped the act and grinned. “Good.”
My eyes fell on the stack of documents in his hands. The mood in the room shifted instantly.

“What is that?” I asked.
Theodore’s expression hardened. A cold, terrifying aura radiated from him. It filled the room, making the air heavy.
“The Investigation results,” he said flatly. “Regarding Isla’s k********g years ago.”
“And?”
“It was fake,” Theodore said. His voice was like jagged ice. “It was a ‘bitter meat‘ trap. Ronan and Isla planned it together to gain sympathy. And my father… Theron knew. He let it happen.”
I felt a chill run down my spine. Betrayal by family was the worst kind.
“They have crossed the line,” Theodore said. “I am done being lenient.”
He looked me in the eye.
“We are testing Ronan’s bloodline,” he stated. “If he is not my full brother–if Theron swapped him in as an illegitimate child–I will break his legs. I will make him a true cripple.”
His eyes flashed gold.
“And if he is my brother? If he shares my mother’s blood?” Theodore continued. “Then I will exile him. I will find a deserted island in the middle of nowhere. He will rot there alone until he
dies.”
I nodded slowly. It was a brutal sentence, but a just one.
“Tomorrow’s ceremony is going to be quite the show,” I murmured. “Blood and drama.”
(Ronan’s POV)
I stormed out of the hospital entrance. The automatic doors slid shut behind me.
I looked down at the paper bag in my hand. The steak was cold. Everything was ruined.
“Aaargh!”
I slammed the bag onto the concrete. The container burst open. Expensive venison steak scattered across the dirty ground, mixing with the dust.
My phone rang in my pocket. I snatched it out.
“What?” I barked.

It was my father, Theron.
“Did he agree?” Theron asked urgently. “Did Theodore give you the money for the medical bills?”
Claim
“No,” I said, kicking a piece of meat across the pavement. “He refused. He said the reason wasn’t good enough.”
“That ungrateful bastard!” Theron screamed through the phone. “He is cold–blooded! He wants his sister to suffer? If we don’t get money soon, the hospital will stop Isla’s treatment.”
I rubbed my temples. My head was pounding from the anger.
“We don’t have a choice,” I said coldly. “Tell Isla to sell her bags.”
“What?”
“She has a closet full of designer handbags,” I snapped. “Sell them. That should cover the fees for now.”
I hung up before he could argue. I yanked my car door open and slid into the driver’s seat.
I gripped the steering wheel, my knuckles turning white. I took deep breaths, trying to force the rage down.
*Amelia Stone. Theodore Crimson.*
They thought they could humiliate me? They thought I was a joke?
I pulled my phone out again. My eyes were dark as I scrolled through my contacts.
I stopped at a name I hadn’t called in a while.
*Celine Stone.*
I pressed the call button.
She picked up on the third ring.
“Hello?” Her voice was cautious.
“I want to meet,” I said bluntly. “We need to talk about tomorrow.”
“Why?”
“Because we have a common enemy,” I said. “I have a plan for the engagement ceremony. I

There was a pause on the other end. I could almost hear the gears turning in her head. She hated Amelia just as much as I did.
“I’m listening,” Celine said, her voice dropping to a conspiratorial whisper. “Where do you want
to meet?”
