Chapter 370: The Assassin Strikes
(Amelia’s POV)
“You’re asking what you already know,” I murmured, my voice barely a whisper.
Without hesitation, I leaned down. I pressed my lips firmly against his.
However, Theodore was clearly not satisfied with this gentle touch.

He chuckled low in his throat, a vibration I felt against my own mouth. A predatory gleam flashed in his golden eyes, dark with desire.
His large hand came up, cupping the back of my head firmly.
He pulled me closer with sudden force, his grip possessive. He tilted my chin up, taking control with an Alpha’s dominance.
He deepened the kiss, his tongue sweeping into my mouth.
The gentle exploration instantly ignited into a blazing fire between our mate bond.
Our breaths mingled, hot and heavy in the quiet hallway.
Theodore’s kiss was demanding and scorching. It felt as if he wanted to drain every bit of sweetness from
my soul.
He wanted to brand me with his scent.
Ava wagged her tail excitedly in the back of my mind. She let out a pleased whimper, pacing with
anticipation.
She craved deeper contact with his wolf, Logan.
I didn’t just passively accept his dominance. I responded with equal fervor, my hands tangling in his dark
hair.
The air around us grew thin and hot, charged with electricity.
The only sounds were our ragged breathing and hearts beating like war drums.
The world shrank down to nothing but us. There was only the heated battle of our lips and the perfect fit of
our bodies.
I didn’t know how much time passed.
My lungs eventually screamed for air, protesting the lack of oxygen.
Theodore finally released me, though he seemed reluctant to let go.
His thumb gently brushed over my swollen, red lips. His eyes were tender, swirling with gold.

His voice was husky and magnetic, sending shivers down my spine.
“My Amy, that is what I call a reward.”
I gasped for breath, trying to steady my racing heart.
“You are greedy, Alpha Crimson,” I teased with a smile, my face flushed.
Theodore looked at me, his gaze intense and unblinking.
“Watching you busy all day, surrounded by everyone else… I barely got a word in,” he admitted.
His voice held a trace of vulnerability.
“My possessiveness was definitely acting up,” he confessed.
I softened, squeezing his hand gently.
“They are family and friends,” I said. “And in the future, they will be your family too.”
He gripped my hand tighter, his thumb caressing my knuckles.
“I know,” he said softly. “That is why I waited until now to claim my reward.”
He paused, his expression turning serious. The playful atmosphere shifted slightly.
“I want to stay at the Stone River Pack House tonight,” he stated firmly.
I raised an eyebrow, a playful smirk touching my lips.
“Are you playing the saint?” I asked. “You want to stay, yet you are asking for a separate room?”
Theodore let out a helpless laugh. He looked at me with pure affection and a hint of frustration.

“I am worried about Adrian,” he explained, his tone dropping. “He and Griffin might have follow–up plans
tonight. I want to be here to handle any emergencies with you.”
I nodded slowly. He was right.
To completely bring down a schemer like Adrian, I needed witnesses. I needed someone strong by my
side.
“Okay,” I agreed. “You can take the guest room next to mine.”
He agreed readily, looking relieved.
“You are being too much of a gentleman,” I couldn’t help but joke again.
Theodore glanced down at his legs. A self–deprecating smile appeared on his handsome face.
“If we were in the same room and I couldn’t complete the mating,” he said dryly. “That would be top–tier torture for any Alpha.”
After settling Theodore in the guest room, I returned to my own bedroom.

I checked on the three little snakes in their terrarium. They were hissing softly, fighting over the best sleeping spot under the heat lamp.
I calmed them down before heading to the bathroom.
Washing up quickly, I climbed into the soft bed.
My phone screen lit up in the dark. It was a goodnight message from Theodore.
I typed a sweet reply, a smile lingering on my face.
I drifted into a deep sleep, exhausted from the day’s events.
However, the silence of the night was shattered at 2:30 AM.
My phone rang shrilly on the nightstand, vibrating against the wood.
I woke up instantly, grabbing the device. It was Silas.
“Boss, there is movement at Livia’s side,” Silas reported urgently.
Sleep vanished from my mind instantly. My eyes narrowed in the dark, cold and calculating.
“Do not let Livia die,” I ordered coldly. “We must catch the assassin alive.”
I hung up, a cold sneer forming on my lips.
Adrian was truly ruthless. To regain his power and position, he was willing to sacrifice his own mate.
If he could be this cruel, I had no reason to show mercy.
I jumped out of bed and threw on my clothes.
I knocked on the door of the guest room.
Theodore was already awake. He sat up, his golden eyes clear and sharp.
There was no trace of sleepiness, only an Alpha’s instinct for danger.
“The assassin has made a move,” I said quickly.
I moved to help him change out of his robe. My movements were efficient as I helped him into his shirt
and trousers.
We hurried downstairs and got into the car. The engine roared to life.
As I drove into the night, I called my parents.
“Dad, it’s happening,” I told Jaxon.
“You and Theodore go ahead,” Jaxon’s voice was steady and commanding. “Your mother and I will bring Alpha Alaric and Lyra. We will meet you there.”
I gripped the steering wheel tighter, my knuckles turning white.

This time, I was determined.
+25 Point:
I would send my biological father to the dungeons. He would face the Pack Law and pay for his crimes.
(Livia’s POV)
*Thud.*
A dull sound, like a heavy object hitting a wall, penetrated the heavy door.
It drilled straight into my ears, jarring me from my dreams.
I jerked awake from my light sleep. My heart squeezed tight in my chest, pounding against my ribs.
My hand instinctively reached out to the other side of the bed.
It was empty.
The cold silk sheets reminded me that I was alone. Adrian was not there.
He had used the excuse of not wanting to disturb my rest. He said he would sleep in the small guest
bedroom at the end of the hall.
*Crash!*
Another muffled noise followed.
It was followed by the crisp, unmistakable sound of shattering porcelain.
My drowsiness evaporated instantly.
A chill ran down my spine, freezing my blood.
I threw off the covers and stepped onto the cold floor with bare feet.
I moved silently to the door, holding my breath.
My hand trembled as I gripped the handle.
I turned it slowly, trying not to make a sound.
I opened the door just a crack.
The living room was dim. It was lit only by the faint moonlight filtering through the window.
I squinted, trying to make sense of the chaos in the shadows.
Two blurry figures were locked in a violent struggle!
Fists and feet collided with dull thuds.
Furniture was knocked askew, crashing to the floor.
One of the figures was wearing dark blue silk pajamas.
I knew those pajamas. I had bought them for him.
