Amelia stared at the message from Lucas on her phone screen. She quickly typed out a concise reply to

the young man.

“Hand that bell over to me, and I can guarantee you will not die. But the dog–walking bet must still be

fulfilled.”

On the other end, Lucas completely abandoned his personal dignity. Staying alive was the only thing that

mattered to him right now.

He gritted his teeth and typed back. “How do I hand the item over to you?”

Amelia’s response was brief. “Someone will go to fetch it tomorrow morning.”

Lucas let out a deep breath and simply replied with one word. “Okay.”

Amelia placed her phone down and immediately contacted Silas. Her tone was calm, yet she issued her

commands with clarity.

“Have someone go to Lucas’s place tomorrow morning to retrieve an item. It contains a bomb.”

Silas remained silent, listening intently.

“After retrieving it, have someone craft a new bell with an identical appearance,” Amelia continued smoothly. “Then, take that original bell containing the bomb. During my live stream, use a same–city express courier to deliver it directly to Griffin.”

“Understood,” Silas’s voice came through the speaker.

Amelia ended the call and set the device aside. Her gaze grew incredibly cold.

It seemed that suffering a loss once was not enough for Griffin. He intended to taste bitter suffering once

again in a short time.

The next morning arrived with a pale light creeping across the horizon. Lucas had not slept a single wink the entire night.

Pure fear had kept him tossing and turning in his bed until dawn. He was leaning against his headboard in a dazed state.

Suddenly, he detected a fleeting shadow flashing past his window. A sharp knock sounded against the glass.

Lucas sat up sharply, staring at the window with intense vigilance. “Who is it?” he asked in a low, trembling
