Chapter 392: Lance Wants to Avenge Griffin?
Chapter 392: Lance Wants to Avenge Griffin?
(Author’s POV)
Meeting Amelia’s sharp gaze, Theodore could not help but laugh out loud. The deep sound of his laughter
echoed warmly in the spacious office.
He readily admitted that he certainly heard about the third injured person at the explosion scene. There
was no point in hiding his excellent intelligence network from her.
Amelia looked at him with a very serious and unyielding expression. She placed her hands flat on the
glass coffee table.
“Did you already know exactly who the backer behind the Drake Pack is?” she asked directly. She leaned
forward, her sapphire blue eyes narrowing slightly in suspicion.
“Are you keeping this from me because you are hiding something else?” Amelia demanded softly. She
needed absolute transparency from the powerful Alpha sitting across from her.
Theodore saw her taking the initiative to bring up this highly sensitive topic. He let out a helpless but
incredibly doting sigh.
The harsh lines of his handsome face softened completely. “I did not intentionally hide it from you,
Amelia,” Theodore explained gently.
He pushed his wheelchair slightly closer to the edge of the table. “I simply felt there was no need for you to worry about my pack’s affairs,” he added.
Amelia frowned slightly at his protective but dismissive words. She did not like being treated like a fragile
flower.
“What exactly does that mean?” she pressed him further. Theodore leaned back in his comfortable
wheelchair and looked at her calmly.”
His intense golden eyes locked onto her beautiful face. “Griffin has suffered repeated devastating
setbacks at your hands recently,” Theodore explained smoothly.
“He absolutely could not resist sending people to thoroughly investigate your background.” Theodore’s
golden eyes glinted with a sharp, calculating light.
“He wanted to confirm if you had an incredibly powerful backer supporting you,” he continued. “Since he
could not find anything concrete, Griffin naturally made an assumption.”
Theodore smiled a cold, mocking smile at their enemy’s foolishness. “He believes everything you have done has the tacit approval of the Crimson Moon Pack.”
“He might even believe our pack is directly participating in your schemes.” Theodore finished his

explanation with a confident shrug of his broad shoulders.

Amelia instantly understood the flawless logic hidden within his careful words. Her brilliant mind quickly
processed the dangerous implications.
“In order to bring down the Crimson Moon Pack, Griffin will definitely use outside power,” she said. “He will
absolutely rely on the immense strength of that big shot behind him.”
Amelia looked deeply into Theodore’s intense golden eyes. “This means that big shot will definitely cause
severe trouble for the Crimson Moon Pack very soon,” she concluded.
Theodore nodded his head slowly, frankly admitting to her accurate assessment. He did not show a single
ounce of fear or hesitation.
“As my soon–to–be marked mate, your every word and action is tied perfectly to the Crimson Pack,” he
stated proudly. He reached out across the table and firmly grasped her slender hand.
His large, warm palm completely enveloped her delicate fingers. “But I am completely confident that I have ways to solve this incoming trouble,” he assured her.
Facing this complicated and highly dangerous situation, Amelia tilted her head slightly. A playful smirk appeared on her beautiful lips.
“Do you regret choosing a trouble–making woman like me as your mate?” she asked in a half–joking tone.
Theodore did not laugh at her probing question.
He gently pulled her hand and placed it directly over his broad, muscular chest. “Do you clearly
understand my true heart?” Theodore asked her in return.
Amelia felt the steady, powerful beating of his heart beneath her palm. The rhythmic thumping sent a
strange warmth spreading through her veins.
She looked at his handsome face and spoke with absolute honesty. “I believe you are completely sincerè
right now,” Amelia admitted softly.
She did not doubt his current feelings for her. “But people are always incredibly good at pretending.”
She slowly pulled her hand back from his warm chest. She maintained her usual calm and guarded
demeanor.
“The only reason I dare to believe you is because I possess absolute confidence,” she stated firmly. “I have
the ultimate confidence to simply walk away at any given time.”
Amelia’s voice was completely steady and devoid of any fear. Theodore did not say another word in
response to her bold declaration.
He simply reached forward and pulled her directly into his strong arms. He ignored the armrests of his
wheelchair and brought her close.
He lowered his head and captured her lips in a deep, passionate kiss. He effectively stopped whatever

words she was going to say next.

The kiss was demanding but filled with undeniable affection. Inside Amelia’s mind, her silver wolf Ava let
out a deeply satisfied whimper.
The beautiful wolf wagged her tail happily in the mental space. She was clearly extremely pleased by the
powerful Alpha’s intimate closeness.
After this intense and breathless kiss finally ended, Theodore slowly pulled back. He looked down at her
flushed face and let out a soft sigh.
“You are simply too rational, Amelia,” Theodore murmured quietly. His words instantly triggered a sudden, unpleasant memory in Amelia’s mind.
This strongly reminded her of her ex–mate, Damien Blackwood. Damien had also evaluated her in this
exact same way in the past.
He always acted as if absolutely nothing in this world could ever hurt her. He thought her heart was made
of solid ice.
Amelia silently asked herself a difficult question in her heart. If Theodore proposed breaking their mate
bond in the future, would she be hurt?
She honestly was not entirely sure of the answer. She stared blankly at Theodore’s expensive shirt collar.
She might be able to pull herself together very quickly after a rejection. Her survival instincts would
definitely kick in immediately.
However, that did not mean her heart would not ache deeply. It would feel just like the painful damage caused by her biological parents‘ endless coldness.
That kind of lingering pain was something she knew all too well. Amelia firmly pushed Theodore’s broad chest, creating some safe distance between them.
“With my past upbringing, I cannot help but remain completely rational,” she stated coldly. She smoothed
down the invisible wrinkles on her clothes.
She shot him a sharp, warning glare. “Do not try to make me show weakness to you,” she warned him
strictly.
Theodore did not push the issue any further at that moment. He respected her boundaries and gave her
the space she demanded.
They both moved to the dining table and began to enjoy their prepared lunch. The kitchen staff had
prepared delicious portions of perfectly roasted venison ribs.
They also had large bowls of fresh green salad dressed in light vinaigrette. During the entire meal, Theodore kept his golden eyes silently fixed on her face.

“I do not want to force you to show weakness, Amelia,” he explained gently. He placed his silver fork down
onto his empty ceramic plate.
He looked at her with an expression full of deep, genuine affection. “My heart simply aches because you
always prepare for the absolute worst to defend against pain,” he said.
He reached across the table and lightly touched her hand again. “You can actually be scared, and you can definitely be hurt,” he pointed out softly.
“You simply force yourself not to show any vulnerability or need for others.” Theodore’s voice was
incredibly tender and understanding.
Having her deepest inner thoughts exposed so accurately made Amelia feel slightly awkward. She felt a
sudden wave of embarrassment and sharp annoyance wash over her.
She did not like feeling so incredibly transparent. She quickly grabbed a white cloth napkin from the wooden dining table.
She crumpled it up tightly in her hand. She threw it directly at Theodore’s handsome face in a fit of playful
anger.
“You are also hiding the matter of Griffin’s backer from me!” she accused him loudly. Theodore easily caught the flying napkin in mid–air and laughed out loud.
His golden eyes sparkled with pure amusement. He quickly spoke soft, soothing words to comfort her
rising temper.
He deliberately stopped continuing this heavy, emotional topic of conversation. He knew exactly when to push and when to retreat.
