even Aires won’t be able to save him.” She sets the glass

down. “For Nick, staying in jail is the best choice.”

I sigh. “Ah, poor Richard.” I shake my head. “He has worried himself so much for his buddy.”

A light knock on the door interrupts us. Raymond walks in

with Robin. Talia fought a great comeback, so she invited them to dinner. Robin settles into his chair, looking serious for

a boy his age.

Talia reaches for the bell to call the waiter. Robin suddenly

whispers, his voice low as he leans towards my best friend.
