Chapter 252
Talia’s POV
As the recording ends, the room falls into a deathly silence. The final words echo off the walls, fading into nothing. No one moves. No one speaks.
The expressions of those present vary, but most look
uncomfortable. Some stare at the floor. Others shift their weight from foot to foot. A few glance at each other, searching for an escape that does not exist.
They had shamelessly accused me of being petty, of blowing things out of proportion, of refusing to take a harmless joke. But now that the truth is laid bare, they know they have no face left
to save.
Gerard, after listening, turns to the crowd. His voice is calm but carries the weight of authority.
“Those who spoke ill of Ms. Green, apologize to her now.” He pauses, letting his words sink in. “Otherwise, you will no longer be welcome at my music gatherings.”
His message is clear. Anyone who refuses will be banned from future events. The crowd finally loses their bravado. Whatever dignity they were trying to preserve is not worth losing access to Gerard’s circle.

The two men who surrounded me earlier, now realizing the gravity of the situation, step forward. Their heads are bowed. Their voices are contrite.
“Ms. Green, we are truly sorry.” The first one swallows hard. “We approached you earlier because you were so beautiful, and we wanted to exchange contact information.”
The second one nods vigorously. “Later, we were swayed by others‘ words and made a mistake…” He trails off, then adds, “We apologize for our rudeness.”
I give them a cold glance but say nothing.
When these two men approached me, their eyes were filled with blatant lust. I have encountered plenty of men like them. Give them an inch, and they take a mile. Their apologies mean nothing. Their regret is not for what they did, but for being caught.

With these two leading the way, others who gossiped about me line up to apologize. One by one, they step forward, muttering their regrets, avoiding my eyes.
I stand quietly, not showing any magnanimity to stop them. I do not wave away their apologies with a gracious smile. I do not tell them it is fine.

I want everyone, including Aires, to know that I am not someone to be trifled with.
Aires‘ POV
Noah’s deep gaze remains fixed on Talia, a faint smile playing on his lips. His admiration for her is obvious, growing with each
passing moment.
I notice Noah’s interest in Talia and frown unconsciously. The recording Talia played mentioned my name. Did Noah not know she is my ex–wife? The mother of my child?
A sense of unease stirs within me, unwelcome and unfamiliar.
After the apologies, the crowd scatters, too embarrassed to linger. They shuffle away in small groups, eager to put distance between themselves and the scene.
Finally, Talia turns to Nick, who has remained silent
throughout. His face is twisted with resentment and defiance. His jaw is clenched. His arms are crossed.
He refuses to apologize. I can see it in the set of his shoulders, the stubborn line of his mouth.
Aires, do not worry.” Nick’s voice is low, meant only for me

will not bow down in front of her. After all, I am only here to accompany Imema. Whether I attend these music gatherings in the future does not matter.”
My voice is stern, cutting. “Nick.”
Nick flinches. His bravado cracks. He instinctively looks at me, and my icy gaze bores into him.
Just as he opens his mouth to speak, Talia interrupts.
“Mr. Cooper, save your words.” Her voice is calm, dismissive. “Even if you apologize, I will not accept it. What you have done cannot be undone with a simple sorry.”
Nick sneers, recovering some of his defiance. “You said it yourself.” He shrugs. “Do not regret it.”
“Do not worry.” Talia smiles. “I will not.” She pauses. “But it is a pity.”
Nick’s brow furrows. “What is a pity?”

“If you had turned yourself in earlier, you might have gotten leniency.” Talia tilts her head. “But now… you have lost that chance.”
Nick scoffs, about to ask what she is playing at. But before he
myspeak, Talia’s gaze shifts to the door.

Chapter 252
A group of uniformed officers approaches Nick. Their steps are measured. Their expressions are professional.
“Mr. Cooper, we have received a report that you are suspected of burglary and intentional property damage.” The lead officer holds up a document. “Please come with us for questioning.”
Nick’s eyes widen. He instinctively protests, “I did not do it. You
must be mistaken…”
The officers surround him, blocking any escape. “Mr. Cooper, please cooperate with our investigation.”
Seeing the situation, Nick falls silent. If he continues to argue, he might be forcibly taken away, losing all dignity in front of this
crowd.
It is clear who reported him.
Nick glares at Talia, his voice low and venomous. “Just wait!” He spits the words. “You will face the consequences!”
As Nick is led away, a small commotion ripples through the room. But since he is not part of the inner circle, the gathering quickly returns to normal. Conversations resume. Glasses clink. Music plays.
Imema watches Nick being taken away, her face pale. She turns 5/7

to me, her voice pleading.
“Alpha, Nick has been arrested.” She grips my arm. “Let us help him.”
I glance at her indifferently. “He deserves it.”
“But-”
I cut her off, my gaze cold and unreadable. “Nick has been too arrogant.” I pull my arm free. “It is time he learned a lesson.”
Imema’s POV
I fall silent, unable to argue.
Nick destroyed Talia’s studio. Aires might have overlooked it, since it was done in my defense. He might have seen it as loyalty, as protecting me.
But Nick’s earlier words crossed a line. No matter what, Talia is Aires’s ex–wife. She is Aeson’s mother. Humiliating her in public, reducing her to a whore in front of an international crowd, is a direct slap in Aires’s face.
I can’t help but curse Nick for his stupidity.

He had one job! One simple job. Keep his mouth shut and let me handle the situation. Instead, he made everything worse.
Now he is being led away in handcuffs, and I am left standing here, humiliated, exposed, with no one to blame but myself for trusting him.
