Chapter 274
Talia’s POV
The silence left by the fleeing reporters feels like another burden, instead of being able to soothe the ringing in my ears. Aires stands directly in front of me, his massive frame blocking out the morning sun, throwing a long shadow over both me and Electra.
His hand is still clamped tightly around my wrist. The warmth of his skin is suffocating, a sharp contrast to the icy, trembling weakness that still flows through my limbs from the fever.
I stare at his fingers wrapped around my skin. Months ago, a single touch like this from him would make my heart flutter with a foolish hope. Now, it only brings exhaustion and a bitter taste to the back of my throat.
“Let go,” I say.
My voice is barely a whisper, raw and scratched from the illness, but I infuse it with every ounce of strength I have left.
Aires blinks, his thunderous expression faltering for a fraction of a second. He looks down at my wrist, his thumb halting its soft brush against my skin, before slowly loosening his grip.
Pre steps back just an inch, yet his eyes remain locked onto hy

commanding Alpha tone he just used to scatter the media. “You are burning up. What are you even doing out of bed? Why are you at the hospital?”
“That is none of your business, Alpha Aires,” I reply coldly. I pull my arm back against my body, physically breaking whatever tether he thinks he has established between us.
I refuse to give him the satisfaction of seeing how close I am to collapsing, or show even a flicker of gratitude to the man who broke every piece of my heart and left me to drown in the judgment of his world.
Electra steps up beside me, her small hand firmly supporting my waist. I can feel her trembling slightly, still shaken by the aggressive paparazzi, but her loyalty keeps her grounded right
next to me.
She glares at Aires with wariness, and before Aires can speak again, a familiar, smooth purr of an engine cuts through the tense air of the driveway.
Raymond’s sleek sedan swerves around the corner of the hospital parking structure and slides to a halt right at the curb. The passenger door clicks open from the inside immediately.
Raymond looks through the windshield, his sharp gaze instantly taking in the scene: my pale face, Electra’s protective stance, and Angs standing like a dark sentinel.

I don’t give him the time to start another confrontation. I force my leaden legs to move, taking two deliberate steps toward Raymond’s open car door.
“Talia, wait,” Aires says, reaching out a hand as if to catch me again. “We need to talk. There are some things that-”
I halt, turning my head just enough to catch his gaze over my shoulder. My expression remains frozen, completely detached from whatever emotional turmoil is turning his eyes dark.
“You didn’t need to take the trouble,” I say, my words clipped and precise. “My life, my health, and my friends have nothing to do with you anymore. Don’t bother interfering again.
Without waiting for a response, and without giving him a single backward glance, I step into the passenger seat of Raymond’s car. Electra quickly slides into the back seat behind me, pulling her door shut with a solid, echoing thud.
As the vehicle glides away from the curb, I close my eyes and let the darkness of my exhaustion take over, entirely shutting out the man left standing alone on the pavement.
Aires‘ POV
The tail lights of Raymond’s ear disappear around the hospital bend, leaving behind nothing but a faint trail of exhaust and a gyafening silence.

extended in the empty air where Talia had just been.
The absolute dismissal in her parting words rings in my ears, cutting deeper than any physical blade ever could. There was no anger in her voice, no lingering resentment that I could try to fight or soothe.
There was only a devastating indifference. She looked at me as if I were a complete stranger, a minor inconvenience that she couldn’t wait to push past.
My hand drops heavily to my side. My wolf paces restlessly beneath my skin, scratching at my consciousness, whining in a state of chaotic distress that matches the turmoil in my chest.
I close my eyes, trying to clear the image of her pale, sweating face from my mind, but the darkness only forces me back to the early hours of this morning.
At dawn, I had woken up gasping for air, my sheets soaked in sweat, my heart hammering violently against my ribs.
It wasn’t a nightmare that had shaken me awake, but a dream… a memory so vivid and intense that it shattered the walls of my carefully guarded mind.
For years, my childhood memories have been a chaotic blur, overwhelmed by the hyper–acute senses of an emerging Alpha wolf and the suffocating pressure of my bloodline. Buthis 12 20

overlapping sounds of the world, hiding away in a secluded room to escape the pressure. I was on the verge of a violent breakdown, my young senses tearing me apart from the inside
out.
And then, the music started.
Someone began playing a melody on a piano nearby. It wasn’t just a song; it was a lifeline. The structure of the notes, the emotional depth of the chords, and the sheer perfection of the performance acted like a soothing balm, instantly quietening the raging storm inside my mind.
I remember sitting in the shadows, completely mesmerized, falling deeply in love with the faceless angel who was playing that phantom melody. For the rest of my life, that melody has haunted my dreams, an ideal that I have desperately searched for but could never find.
Even after I found Imema, I never had the courage to ask her to play it again.
I open my eyes, the bright morning light forcing me back into the present reality of the hospital driveway.
I look down at the ground where Talia stood just moments ago. I visualize her rigid, proud posture as she faced down the paparazzi, the elegant tilt of her head despite her obvious Bligsical weakness, and the sharp, undeniable preseng she hebb

Could the woman I discarded be the very savior I have spent my life looking for?
No! No… how can that be possible?
