Imema’s POV
A heavy crystal vase shatters against the exposed brick wall of Nick’s penthouse, exploding into a hundred glittering, jagged shards that rain down onto the hardwood floor. I don’t care. I
grab a velvet throw pillow and rip it down the seam, feathers bursting into the air like a grotesque snowstorm, before kicking a designer coffee table with the heel of my shoe.
“Fucking useless! Everyone is completely useless!” I scream, my voice cracking, raw and ugly in the expansive, modern space.
The sophist

cultivating lies completely smashed on the floor of Master Gerard’s green room. The image of the elite critics standing on their feet, applauding that pathetic, unrefined housewife, flashes behind my eyelids like a recurring nightmare.
Whe completely eclipsed us. She reduced Cassian to a weeping, broken amateur and left me standing in the hallway like a common, failed conspirator.
“Imema, calm down. Stop it, you are going to cut yourself,” Nick says, stepping into the living room, his hands extended as he tries to approach me.
“Don’t touch me, Nick!” I snarl spinning around to plate at big3

my breathing ragged, my chest heaving beneath my ruined silk dress.
I don’t care that Nick has never seen me like this, never seen my real hatred and anger towards Talia. Right now, I’m spiralling and I don’t care how anyone in the world sees me.
“Do you even understand what happened tonight? Master Gerard blacklisted me. He cut all ties. The corporate sponsors are already pulling their funding from my charity foundation. By tomorrow morning, every high-society matriarch in the city will be whispering about my humiliation! Talia did this to me. That gutter-born slut stripped me of my life’s work!”
Nick’s jaw tightens, a dangerous, dark resentment flaring in his eyes as my words feed his own growing malice. He clenches his fists, looking at the broken glass on the floor. He has always hated Talia, viewing her as an insignificant nuisance who disrupted our circle, but tonight, his hatred matches my own.
“I know,” Nick says, his voice dropping into a low, venomous register that matches the dark energy in the room. “I saw the reporters. They are already drafting the articles. She thinks because she has Raymond Capaldi and Jack shielding her, she untouchable now. She thinks she can just march into our world and dictate who stays and who goes.”
“She is a parasite!” I roar, throwing a ceramic candle against the glass balcony doors, watching it crack and slide down the panel

pace a frantic circle around the ruined living room, my mind spinning into a dark, chaotic vortex. .
“Socially… professionally… we cannot touch her anymore. The critics are completely obsessed with her cheap, emotional tricks. If I try to fight her on their terms again, Aires will notice. He will see right through me, and I will lose everything.”
I stop pacing. The frantic, manic energy inside my chest suddenly goes deathly cold, hardening into a sharp, lethal calculation. The panic leaves my mind, replaced by a sinister, absolute clarity.
I turn slowly to face Nick, my eyes narrowing into sharp, malicious slits. I don’t look like an angel anymore. I look like a predator that has been backed into a corner, ready to tear its prey to shreds.
“We are playing the wrong game, Nick,” I say, my voice dropping into a skin-crawling, quiet whisper that instantly silences the room.
Nick blinks, matching my gaze with a mix of intense devotion and dark curiosity. “What do you mean, Imema?”
“Embarrassing her at the gala wasn’t enough. Trying to prove she is an uneducated fraud doesn’t work when the world wants to believe her pathetic little redemption story,” I state, walking slowly toward him, my high heels clicking against the 13:03

floorboards.
I stop just inches from him, looking directly into his eyes.
“We don’t just want to shatter her confidence in playing the piano. We don’t just want to make her look like a good-for-nothing housewife.”
I reach out, my cold fingers gripping his forearm with a tight, unyielding force. “I want to break her spirit permanently, Nick. I want to snatch away her very will to live. I want to ensure that when she looks in a mirror, she doesn’t see a musician or a mother. She will see absolutely nothing.”
Nick’s breath catches, his wolf reacting instinctively to the absolute depravity in my tone, but his devotion to me and his own deep-seated rage quickly overwhelm his hesitation. “What do you want to do?”
“We are going to remove her from the board entirely,” I whisper, the plan unfolding in my mind with beautiful, horrific precision. “No more high-society rules. No more pack laws. We hire people from the underground. Men who don’t care about Alpha names or corporate status. We pay them to kidnap her, isolate her in a dark room somewhere far away from the city, and let them have her. Let twenty men tear off her clothes and assault her until she is reduced to nothing but a broken bag of bones. By the time they are finished with her, she won’t be able to look at a piano, let alone stand on a stage. She will be a hollow, ruined hell.3.03

A dark, twisted grin breaks across Nick’s face as my venom fills his veins. The absolute cruelty of the escalation doesn’t disgust him; it intoxicates him. He loops his arm around my waist, pulling me close against his chest.
“Planned perfectly,” Nick murmurs, his eyes gleaming with a lethal, predatory satisfaction. “I will handle the logistics, Imema. She wants to use men to her advantage? Now she will know what it is like to be taken advantage of by real monsters.”
Together, we don’t waste another second. Nick walks over to his secure desk and pulls out an encrypted satellite phone, dialing a number that connects directly to the city’s darkest underground mercenary factions. I stand right beside his shoulder, listening to the heavy, gravelly voice on the other end of the line.
The contract is forged in the dark.
Nick speaks clearly, offering an astronomical, untraceable corporate sum from his family’s hidden offshore reserves. He gives the mercenary leader Talia’s independent studio schedule, her route, and the precise details of her vulnerability. The terms are absolute: kidnap her around midnight when she is isolated, leave her phone behind so she can call no one, and destroy her completely until she is nothing but a broken object.
“Consider it done,” the voice on the phone grunts before the line goes completely dead.
