Chapter 127
Across the room, Allen was in conversation with his younger brother,
Rex. Even through the auction hall’s noise, I could catch fragments of
their discussion.
“Why were you competing with Drake for that necklace?” Rex was
asking. “It didn’t look worth that much.”
Allen’s gaze remained fixed on Elsa, his expression holding a
gentleness that made my blood boil. “Some things have value beyond
their appearance,” he replied cryptically.
Smug bastard. My molars ground together so hard I thought they
might crack. Who the fuck does he think he is, looking at her like
that?
Rex followed his line of sight, his eyes widening in sudden
understanding. “You weren’t after the necklace–you’re interested in
Elsa?”
Allen didn’t immediately respond, his silence confirmation enough.
“People deserve the right to choose,” he finally said. “Force has no
value. I prefer those who come willingly.”

My fists clenched tightly. I’ll kill him. I’ll fucking tear him apart.
This bastard was openly coveting my partner.
I was about to stride over when Eric intercepted me. “Boss, there’s a call for you in the lounge. Says it’s urgent about the project.”
Reluctantly, I followed Eric out of the auction hall, my thoughts still fixed on Allen’s presumption. Once in the private lounge area, Eric
closed the door and turned to me.
“There’s no call,” he admitted in a low voice. “But I thought you should know–Allen has his eye on your assistant.”
“I know,” I replied coldly. “I just heard some of it.” My voice was eerily calm, a stark contrast to the violent storm raging inside me.
Eric hesitated, choosing his words carefully. “Maybe you should warn
Elsa to be careful.”
“No warnings needed,” I growled, feeling my eyes flash with dangerous anger. “Let him try to touch what’s mine.” If he so much as touches her, I’ll disembowel the motherfucker.
After the auction concluded, the crowd began moving toward the exits. I walked straight to Allen with Elsa in tow, making no attempt to hide my intentions. I needed to address this issue face to face.

“Moonlight,” I said coldly, standing before him. The air in the room
seemed to freeze as those around us sensed the tension erupting
between us and stepped back. “Your bidding today was…
enthusiastic.”
Allen offered a slight smile that didn’t reach his eyes. Well–built and wearing a perfectly tailored suit, his silver–gray eyes calmly met mine. “Mr. Stone, congratulations on your victory. Some things you clearly desire to possess very badly.” His gaze flicked briefly to Elsa,
then back to me. “At any cost.”
I felt Elsa tense beside me, but I maintained my posture, standing taller, shoulders spread–a completely dominant stance. “When it comes to things that matter, I never hesitate,” I replied in a low voice filled with threat. “I protect what I cherish.”
A flash of challenge lit Allen’s eyes. “Some believe power is the only law,” he continued, his voice soft but challenging. “But I believe everyone has the right to choose. Force has no value. I prefer those who come willingly.”
This was a direct criticism of my relationship with Elsa, a public questioning of our connection. I felt a wave of anger sweep through my body, my eyes surely flashing with dangerous light.
“Are you questioning my right to choose?” Elsa suddenly spoke up, her voice calm but clear. Both men turned to her, clearly surprised by
